The hypocrisy of Brendan Rodgers who only wants VAR to referee football if it benefits Celtic.

September 2023 Rangers were robbed out of a perfectly good goal against Celtic at Ibrox. Referee Don Robertson had initially awarded the goal and was later advised by Alan Muir to review it on VAR screen. Despite there being clearly nothing wrong with the goal Robertson elected to rule it out. It gave Celtic a huge lift and they went on to win the match.
Rodgers was full of glee afterwards and when asked his thoughts on the disallowed goal he said the officials were correct to intervene and rule the goal out if they felt there was a foul.
Contrast this to his shameful behaviour after Celtic lost at Tynecastle to Hearts.
Rodgers was irate over the intervention of the VAR official (John Beaton) and called him out by name, not once but TWICE. This despite the fact that Celtic had already ensured a pile on against Beaton after they lost a match at Ibrox to Rangers. Despite being outplayed by the Ibrox side the full game. Beaton had to contact the Police and was given 24 hour protection.
Rodgers clearly knew what he was doing and of course it's worked a treat. His followers and lickspittles in the Press have taken to social media to go after Beaton again. This despite the fact that Celtic were awarded a ridiculous penalty kick that Beaton should have flagged up on VAR as an incorrect decision.
