With the guy on this one, don’t get it either buddy. I’m starting to think that if we as husbands get ice cream with the wife, it helps them feel less bad about making an unhealthy decision.

You gotta think of it like a date. You wouldn't ask a girl out to a fancy restaurant, just to sit there and watch her eat because you already had dinner. It's no different, typically from the woman's perspective.

It's 100% this. Same with the I'm going to such and such fast food on the way home, want anything question. They can say no, but you better get them something or it's going to either end in a disagreement or you losing half your own meal if you don't.

She feels too guilty if she indulges without you also indulging, men do not have any such guilt associated with unhealthy choices. Hence we can eat crap on our own.

Mistake to think that dynamic is always gonna make sense. That way lies ruin. Whenever you're in that situation, choose ice cream. Force it down if you have to.

The answer is: She WANTS Ice Cream. JUST NOT THE AMOUNT OF FAT it will bring her. In short, it is ok for you to eat because by then, she can USE YOU as an EXCUSE to eat. "Hey, I am not the pig in the relationship". That's what she's gonna tell her bashers. Solution: EAT SEPARATELY. That way she has ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE but to be on diet.

No, not every couple faces this dilemma. Some women are not weird like her. She has a very unhealthy relationship w/ food. This is not cute. She needs to grow up. She's having a kid soon, but still acts like one herself. 🤦‍♀️

She's not really asking you about the ice cream, she's asking you to share an experience! If you don't both get ice cream, you don't mutually experience the sensations of the taste of the ice cream, making a mess of yourselves, talking about what flavor you felt like today, remembering ice cream memories, sharing what you got. It's like if you told her you wanted to be intimate with her, but she says "I don't feel like it, but I'll read a book about knitting in the corner while you help yourself". If you don't want ice cream, suggest something else you could do together that would be a shared experience. Sincerely, a guy on Courtney's side

Alex, you need to realize something. You are trying to use rational thought and logic. When you are having a discussion with a woman (especially one who is pregnant!), there is no place for those 2 things in said discussion! Give it up!
