I bought the VL60 about 3 years ago for camping, but we actually use it daily for drinks, snacks, and grocery runs. My wife love the fact that we can shop at any time during the day and not have to wait until the last stop of the day for groceries. When the kids finish their after school practices, they can have their snacks and dinners. Once we are empty nesters, we will upgrade to a dual zone and extend our camping trips.

You mentioned you use your fridge for shopping but how do you keep it cold at all times so it’s ready to fill? Do you plan ahead and charge before you go out? Trying to see how you keep it ready or do you use the battery pack and how long does it take to cool especially when car is hot and it’s been off so you can fill with groceries?
@BaptismOverland2 ай бұрын
In the Jeep it's always on due to dual battery and solar. In the Runner we plan ahead and turn it on. But Iceco gets to temp in less than 10 min. So sometimes we go to the grocery, put everything in, turn the fridge on, and it'll be cold waaaay before anything thaws or spoils.

Thank you. We will get one.

Great video as always!! I am in the market for my first Iceco fridge. Recommendations?
@BaptismOverland2 ай бұрын
Thanks! And it depends. How many are you feeding. How long will your tips be on average? How much space you have?
@KN4TUE2 ай бұрын
@@BaptismOverland Most of the time two people for actually camping, but for day trips it could be as many as 4. Space is at a premium, not that much.
@BaptismOverland2 ай бұрын
@@KN4TUE Then I would go with the JP50 which gives you the capacity without the size. It's taller and slimmer at the base versus shorter and wider. If that's still too large and it's mainly just 2 people, the APL35 would be my next recommendation

Would this be suitable for over the road truck drivers or would it be to big and bulky?
@BaptismOverland2 ай бұрын
It's not very bulky at all. I WILL say I've seen the inside of 18 wheelers and with the space in there, I would opt for either the APL20 which is smaller or the JP50 pro which is slimmer. Cuz with truck drivers you probably won't need to pack as MUCH food as there's always truck stops versus being off grid for a few days
@richardvalencia90792 ай бұрын
There's also an APL35 you can buy. Just look up the inner and outer dimensions to see which size suits your needs.
@BaptismOverland2 ай бұрын
@@richardvalencia9079yep! I was gonna say the same about the 35 as well!

@@BaptismOverland I plan on being out for a two weeks at a time. I plan storing packets of frozen meat, dairy and fruit . I’m still debating on whether I should buy the alp 55 or Jp 50.
@BaptismOverland2 ай бұрын
@@urbanfragrancejewelry5831 If you plan on using it as a freezer too, definitely go with APL55 as the dual zone is perfect for that. JP50 will be just one well of storage. Either way you can't go wrong. The only way you can go wrong is if you don't use my discount code in the description haha

They've done a LOT of reorganization since then. I am aware. When I bought my first one everything was great. Then they grew pretty quickly and quality went down a bit. People had issues with their fridges. They've since addressed many of those issues with new staff and better R&D
