Labor time is very important when it comes to running your own shop or being a mobile mechanic. Labor time is why we use software like “ALLDATA” and “Mitchell 1”. Those softwares are cheaper and give labor times. If I’m going to spend more money on the software I want it all included.

@@Holt0216 Mitchell1 DIY eautorepair is the best bang for the buck when it comes to personal vehicles. There are a few advantages that the Pro service offers over the DIY service, but the DIY covers most of what anyone would need for general DIY. You can get a 4yr subscription for 1 vehicle for $60. That’s almost free when you break it down to monthly cost. You could get a 4yr subscription for 5 different vehicles for what Truefix costs for one year. Of course Truefix is unlimited vehicles, so it just depends on each persons needs. Alldata has a DIY service as well, but last I looked it cost a LITTLE bit more and I never cared for their website format on my phone. That’s probably just because I was use to Mitchell though. @athhud28 күн бұрын
Your comment shows that you aren’t a professional. This is OEM data. HF doesn’t consider these to be “special” tools, the manufacturer of the automobile does. Typically “special tool” refers to tools that the technician isn’t expected to go out and buy on their own. It will be tools that the dealership purchases and has available for any technician in the shop to use.

@megatrolltrollington28 күн бұрын
@athhud a special tool has nothing to do with what a tech is exoected to buy. Manufacturers dont get to specify what a special tool is; that is predefined by the industry. A special tool is a tool designed and crated for only a specific vehicle or motor. Fucking battery chargers/testers, multimeters, vacuum gauges, and some of that other bs they showed ARE NOT special tools. See below.... Special tool means a finished or unfinished device such as a die, jig, fixture, mold, pattern, special gauge, or similar device, that is used, or is being prepared for use, to manufacture a product and that cannot be used to manufacture another product without substantial modification of the device. The length of the economic life of the product manufactured shall not be considered in making a determination whether a device used to manufacture that product is a special tool.
