@@darthwinsor According to Cambridge Dictionary states that 'deconstruction' is "the act of breaking something down into its separate parts in order to understand its meaning, especially when this is different from how it was previously understood". In fiction's case it's what happens when you apply realistic context and consequences to a fictional genre or any related trope. Usually it makes it darker and cynical than its counterparts. EX. Guyver is a deconstruction of the Tokusatsu genre like Power Rangers and Kamen Rider with Resident Evil-level Biopunk themes with a dash of existential crisis.

Actually I believe it's the other way around. We see in this scene Gije react to the Ideon as it's cutting the planet in half, then in the next scene directly after this the other pilots go check on Gije only to find him unresponsive as he's died of shock from witnessing this.

Could have been somewhat realistic if the planet halves were blown apart from each other, but if it was simply cut slowly like shown here, it'd be more realistic if the halves just smacked, together patching up the cut but with massive earthquakes and multiple cracks throughout the planet, with there also being lava bursting out of it. The planet would ultimately turn into globe of molten rock by the end of it, although it realistically would be a kinda slow process.
