@quakethedoombringer Aegon IV's own father seemed to be a good man, even if he was stern and cynical. Viserys II was probably the most intelligent person to ever sit the Iron Throne and he kept his broken family together and they crumbled when he died. Viserys II is Daeron II's grandfather no matter what, but Aegon IV seems to be the anomaly, although one could argue that he had similarities to his own grandfather Daemon
@MiamiGameHunter3 ай бұрын
This is just my opinion, but not only do I think Aegon IV poisoned his father, but I think the reason why Aegon IV poisoned Viserys II is quite simple: Viserys was the last person who was controlling him. Perfect example, look at the mistresses of Aegon IV: He married off Aegon's first mistress to the master-at-arms at the Red Keep, Ser Lucas Lothston, and had her removed from court. He also put an end to Aegon's affair with his second mistress Megette and sent her back to her husband. As King, Aegon IV figured he could just do whatever he wanted with no one telling him what to do. It's the same reason he despised his son and heir Daeron II, because he dared to speak against him and call him out.

He was terrible, but his family was amazing. Especially King Daemon Blackfyre🗡
@rakshithanand82624 ай бұрын
I think you mean, “Lord Daemon Blackfyre💀”. Last I checked, no Daemon ever got to sit the Iron throne. But since I’m here, I may as well ask; why not support Daemon II? He was a dragon dreamer. Did he do something specific to convince you not to help, or were you just homophobic?
@aegorbittersteel21544 ай бұрын
@rakshithanand8262 King Daemon Blackfyre was King to many even years after his death. As far as not supporting King Daemon Blackfyre the 2nd, he may have been brave and honorable like his father, but his plan was based on a magical dream he didn't fully understand. Any other reason if false dragon propaganda.
@ryansteenburgh98963 ай бұрын
@aegorbittersteel2154 While I would consider Daemon to be better than most Targaryen kings. He just can’t compare to Good King Daeron
@aegorbittersteel21543 ай бұрын
@ryansteenburgh9896 I agree in a way as weird as it sounds. King Daemon Blackfyre would definitely be nowhere near Daeron in terms of administration ability. However, I think King Daemon Blackfyre would still be a good leader able to bring people together with his charm as well as lead by example with his honor and, of course be able to defend the realm with his martial skill.

Its possible that Aegon IV had his father poisoned because he found out that Visery II planned on passing him over for the throne in favor of his son Daeon II. Given what a mess of a man Aegon already was as the crown prince, its not out of the question that Viserys II really did not want him to be his successor. Aegon IV may have also poisoned his cousin Baelor in order to be one step closer to the Iron Throne.
@jmpabd872Ай бұрын
Aegon was in exile while Baelor died, wasn't he? Other than that, i think its very likely he killed Viserys

Aegon the unworthy ❌️ Aegon the player ✅️ Because having one of dangerous son the targaryen bastard the "A Thousand Eyes, and One" is a song about one of the Great Bastards, Brynden Rivers as the potential azor ahai but eventually it was Aegon the VI

I feel like to avoid the Blackfyre Rebellion, Daeron should have made Dameon Hand of the King or Lord commander of the Kings-guard.

I don't think ether was really possible the real only way to have prevented it was keeping deamon close and maybe marrying one of his grandchildren to one of deamons kids since he had a shit ton to spare for marriage.
@sleepyguy2364 ай бұрын
It won’t work imo, he legitimize all of his bastards to make sure that every acknowledge bastards had claims to the iron thorne, not just daemon. Things that can truly avoid blackfyre rebellion is delegitimize them or took the blackfyre sword back. He can undo all bs that his father did, after all he’s the king but he didn’t Not saying he’s stupid though, I do understand that he wanted to be better than his father but that’s clearly fatal mistakes that leads to major civil war even it wasn’t his fault

I'm going to actually defend Baelor's decision to send Aegon on a diplomatic mission. Odds are that he, Aemon, and Viserys realized that he was going to kill Naerys by getting her pregnant again, so they sent him away on a "diplomatic mission" that was really an exhile in all but name. Honestly, if he had died, I don't think they'd all be that sad.
@saberkimochii5042Ай бұрын
Sometimes I feel that Aegon IV, Naerys, Aemon and Daeron II are the reincarnation of Aegon II, Heleana and Aemond (redemption) and Daeron the Daring.
@KingOfWinter3 ай бұрын
Aegon could’ve murdered his father because knowing the type of man his son was was going to relieve the dragon knight of his vows and make him heir or even skip Aegon altogether and make Daeron his heir. There are many reasons he “could” have killed the king

I hope that the show is finished skipping time and actually see the opportunity to have 8-10 season show where after the dance with dragons they can continue the whole Targaryen storyline up towards the mad king or atleast right before it and make the mad king a HBO movie.. a lot of possibilities a lot of storyline to be told alot of spin off shows

@Emma-se5wm3 ай бұрын
he might have. 1 of his acknowledged mistresses, Lady Jeyne Lothston, was the daughter of his previous mistress, lady Halena Stokeworth, who seduced Aegon as a teenager. in 151 Aegon's father wed Lady Falena to Lucas Lothston and sent her from court, though Aegon frequently visited her at Harrenhal over a two year period. Aegon seduced Lady Jeyne when she was 14, and though the year was 178, who's to say Aegon and Falena didn't have a dalliance in the 160s that went unrecorded or unnoticed?

Another reason Daeron wed his little sister, Dawnery, to the Prince of Dorne and not Dawmon was after seeing the pain Aegon IV put his siblings, Naerys and Aemon, through, Daeron wanted to break the abusive cycle of Targaryen incest.

Honestly I think Aegon may have been telling the truth the entire time about Daeron. Nobody believed him because nobody liked him and everyone liked Daeron. Remember histroy doesnt remember BLOOD it remembers NAMES. Because Daeron was given the name Targaryen despite possibly being a bastard and having literally NO WAY of proving one way or the other means its hard to remove the name Targaryen from him. Meanwhile Daemon chooses to Name himself Blackfyre which ends up creating a Narrative that the Blackfyres are these "Others" and aren't equal to Targaryens despite both Daeron (bastard or not) and Daemon having Targaryens as both their Mother and Father. They both are 100% Targaryen and it would be totally GRRM if the Seven Kingdoms this entire time hated and had Bias against bastards mostly becauze of the Blackfyres only for the readers to find out that Daeron and Daemon were BOTH bastards with Daemon being the actual heir

I hate how everybody considers Viserys a bad king because his family felll tf out after he died. I can admit he wasn’t the smartest but His reign wasn’t that bad. Definitely not bad enough to be considered at the same level of this guy 💀

@Dell-ol6hb2 ай бұрын
No he wasn’t, he was constantly trying to curb his bad habits, like everytime he caught Aegon with a mistress he got rid of them, it’s probably why he poisoned Viserys, because Viserys was the only one who had the authority over him to keep him from doing whatever the hell he wanted, as king he had absolutely nobody above him
