I love this movie and the soundtrack. I've always felt like no one else has ever heard of it. My wife met Caesare at a wake and told him I was a huge fan. He was happy to hear that and was disappointed the movie never got the acclaim it deserved.

I won tickets ( WNBC Radio New York ) to Radio City for the Premiere of the Idolmaker. I was in the second row middle seating. The actors came up on the stage and girls started running up on the stage. I decided to go up as well and all the girls were ripping Peter Gallagher's shirt. So yes, that is a memory I will never forget. RIP Ray Sharkey RIP Paul Land. By the way I was 15 at the time.

Good morning people...My sister & I loved & watched this movie about 20x back in 80s. Just got soundtrack on CD, still holds up, fantastic. I just posted this song today on my "F Cancer" playlist! For anyone interested here's the lyrics: It's one of those nights another one of those nights You can't keep from crying And you're dying for someone to hold you But you got to, you got to hold on Ahh hold on, 'til the dawn And believe it'll be alirght However dark the night When love comes along Can't believe how good you're feeling Your heart is pounding, your head is reeling Couldn't dream a better day When love lets you down It hurts enough to last forever You were told you would never Never let it slip away But don't you let me see you crying Don't you let me see you cry There will be a bright tomorrow However dark the night There will come the morning light However dark the night Let there be the morning light However dark the night When love's burning bright You can't remember pain & sorrow You have no past, there's no tomorrow Not when love is hot today When love starts to cool The icy pain is so surprising But you can't stop the sun from rising And it'll melt the ice away So don't you let me see you crying Now don't you let me see you cry There will be a bright tomorrow However dark the night There will come the morning light However dark the night Let there be the morning light However dark the night...(the HIGH note, lol...)

ANYONE, THAT ATTEMPTS A NEW REMAKE HAS 'VERY HUGE' SHOES TO FILL. I JUST CAN'T IMAGE ANY NEW CRACKERJACK MODERN DAY PRODUCER MAKING ANYTHING 'NEAR' OF A "BETTER" VERSION OF THIS?!! THIS FILM DEF. SHOULD'VE GAINED AT KEAST ACADEMY AWARD; THE ACTING, THE CINEMATOGRAPHY, THE SOUNDTRACK, THE WARDROBE, ETC..., ALL STELLAR. EVEN, MAUREEN MCCORMICK ROCKED AS ELLEN FIELDS. 'AND' I CAN NEVER FIND ANY DISCREPANCIES/ MISTAKES/ OR ERRORS TO THIS ORIG. TIME PERIOD?! ALSO.. YOU CAN FREEZE FRAME EVERY FRAME, EVERY STILL FRAME IS A BEAUTIFUL PAINTING.
