The iiRcade store has closed: thoughts from a regular Dad

I have the Gold edition cabinet, and was so disappointed to see the shop going away. A few days prior to the shop closing, I was able to update all games that needed updates, and did the same thing you did, and got about 50 more games. Wanted the lightgun games, but didn't have enough to get those, and lightguns, so I'm having to wait till I can afford Glen's switcher box, and joystick panel, and then I'll get a Pandora's Box, or something to extend the usefulness of my cabinet. Mine's also the Dragon's Lair version, too. These really are works of art. So sad about iiRcade. Thanks for the video.

Rob you should get one of the Exa arcadia cabinets. The closest thing to neo-geo of the past where you were able to house several neo-geo games in one cabinet. These new cabinets look really sleek...

Yeah, I honestly shouldn't have spent quite so much money, but I didn't find out they were shutting it down until 8pm that night, and thought, 'Now or never.' Ultimately, though, I like to have only a few games on my cabinets, so I will likely get rid of the duds and keep probably around 12 games on the machine as a final selection. Thanks for watching!

@@DadsVideoGames I wish they switched to a subscription based service rather then buying games one by one. I mean if you bought one of their machines you where already invested right? What happens now? You just play with what you bought and that’s it. But the premise was you buy a machine and download new games. That’s what I bought into. If I wanted just 2-3 games I would of bought an arcade 1 up. I would of gladly paid 20-25 monthly for constant access. Oh well it’s all in the past now. Wish us luck.

Yeah, I was fortunate that I realized they were shutting it down right before they did so, although it wouldn't have bothered me too much if I hadn't realized until it was too late. I saw that there were some free games too, which was nice. Thanks for watching!

How did you turn the wifi off?

I simply tried connecting to a neighbor’s Wi-Fi (which was password protected), then closed out. My iiRcade tried to connect to that one and abandoned my signal, putting a red X over the signal. If you can’t do that you’ll need to change your Wi-Fi password.

Kinda pointless buying all those games… they will be free in a few months with Glen’s control deck

I haven't heard of that; is it some kind of emulator that you can install to play games? If so that's great for those who are interested. I'm not too up to speed on iircade news, and am not likely to be. Honestly, knowing how I am, I'll probably end up deleting some of the 50+ titles that I don't care for over time until I have it down to just a few that I play when I have time. Thanks for watching!

The control deck will cost $200 with taxes and Glen mentioned the possibility of an approximately $50 add on later that would allow you to add your own PCB, if he reached 500 preorders of the deck. Will allow you to use pirated roms, which I would rather have the ones I paid for, where the money went to the developers. Inciti games were nice enough to give away 9 of their games for free before the shut down. I had no problem buying their one full priced game, Once Upon A Halloween before the store closed.

How do u turn wifi off? I went to wifi but I didn’t see an option to turn off?

If you click on Wi-Fi and a neighbor of yours pops up, try to connect to it(you shouldn’t be able to if it’s locked) then close out. Your system will try to connect to that one and abandon yours. You’ll have a red X over the signal. If you don’t have a neighbor who’s signal pops up, you’ll need to change your password on your Wi-Fi to keep it from connecting.
