So glad to see you on the C42 as I’m learning on that - your videos are perfect for pre and post flight. Looking forward to kit bag etc - haven’t bought kit / kneeboard / iPad yet!

Ben Atkinson loved the engine failure, approach and GST videos - all very intense learning - your active self talk is great and I am now rewatching it all as I progress in my lessons.

Nice video Ben. Your friend 'my neighbour has a tennis court', that's the beauty about flying over the Cotswolds, tennis courts, swimming pools, mansions, private airstrips etc etc. and looking down on it all from my King Air 350 lol! As you suggest it would be good to know some of the behind the scenes stuff, what's in your kit bag, what charts and nav kit you use, how your new headsets are a few months on, what organisations/groups microlight pilots join etc etc. Thanks and keep up the good work!

In the top 10 list of things to never say to a passenger, “open your window so we can get rid of this smoke” has to be right up there with “did you bring some sticky tape? Part of the wing is falling off” 😂 Another great video Ben, looking forward to the next one 😀

Recently came across your videos Ben and they are excellent. I fly a skyranger classic out of Oban and last week flew a Eurostar for the first time for my 2 year revalidation at Perth. Your Eurostar tour and flight were very helpful. Today spent 3 hours flying with you as weather here is pants. Great for reminders and follow through practice

Coming along very nicely, Ben. I feel like I'm falling more and more behind, average 4-6 weeks between lessons atm. I'm about 3.5 solo hours in now, but have yet to start the cross country elements, and it's all due to the weather. It has been abysmal in the NE for weeks now. If you ever head up to the NE, particularly Eshott, be sure to give us a heads up :)

Harry Marshall I’m in the same position. Every lesson cancelled since early September and I’m not too far from Kemble! I had 12 lessons cancelled in a single week two weeks ago. Never mind. We’ll get there!

Harry Marshall It's like that almost country wide at the moment. One of my mates is still plugging away and it's a challenge to juggle everything - frustrating. Hardly any cold crisp, clear, smooth days this year. The nature of the hobby/sport?

Steve Hogg I think that's all you can do, book in lessons/flights and then take them (or cancel them) when you can.

Hi Ben, Great videos I have watched your channel from the start and its been an amazing experience watching you progress. David looks like a great instructor at Kemble which is hard to find these days. A kit bag video would be great at some point when you have the time available to do so. Keep up the good work. Happy flying

Hi Ben, told you you'd love the C42 and that's it's nicer to fly than the Skyranger, but good you had the Skyranger experience as it teaches you about adverse yaw. I will get to Kemble one day in the Gyro you'll have to come up in it! Cheers.

Yeh you know the c42 is awesome. I’d say I’d pick the skyranger in the summer every day of the week though - the visibility out of it is just too good! But yeh it taught me some great lessons. Ah amazing! Yeh let me know !

Yes probably not the best thing to say to a new passenger, I want to practice a landing! Good to see you enjoying your flying. I am now de-restricted, so looking for some nice weather to start stretching my cross country feet. I think I will wait for some slighly longer days before I come over to your part of the world but I really would like to do it at some point.

@@BenAtkinsonVideos Thanks Ben. I was thinking more like May so the day is long enough as it is about a 2.5hr flight there (other side of the country). Looking at the airfield info there is no MoGas there so would have to make some sort of plan to get fuel. Not sure how to get a PM to you.

Ben, nice video - how do you find the C42 compares with the Skyranger. Which do you prefer? Paul
@BenAtkinsonVideos
@BenAtkinsonVideos 4 жыл бұрын
I think it really depends. The c42 is absolutely solid. No slop in the controls that you find a bit in the ‘ranger. The general gist for me would be if it’s a nice warm day or summers evening - take the skyranger. The visibility out of it is exceptional. If it’s a longer trip or in winter I’d take the c42. Easier to fly. Less fussy on rudder. Just slightly less fun maybe.....a touch!!! Thanks for watching paul

Ben, whats the mount you're using for the phone?
@BenAtkinsonVideos
@BenAtkinsonVideos 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Jason. It’s a bit of a botched job, doesn’t quite fit properly around the frame tube. So it’s cable tied. I’m not actually sure of the exact mount as it’s a club fitted piece of kit. Think it’s made up of a GoPro handle bar mount with a universal spring loaded phone mount. Hope that helps
