Do you see Taoism as a religion or a philosophy?
@harrygreen3277

@@JaysonT1 why are you confused about this? Why is this a problem for you? You must be new to the channel since your question is from a beginners perspective. Taoism is a way of life just as being Hindu is. Religion and philosophy are Western words that dissect everything, as if religion and philosophy are two different things. Remember, it is a way of life.

Hi Jason, It’s me ART ! I closed my old account and reopened it. Silly question: I love reading books just like you do but my apartment is tiny. What do you do with all your books especially since you travel? Do you take your few favorites with you and leave other books with friends or family? I love reading so much that I don’t have much room to put my books. And I much prefer reading real books than an e book bc I can underline important concepts . Anyways it’s so nice to find you here again. Are you still doing the monthly live streams? Hello to Gayoung xo ❤

You were free the whole time when you thought you were trapped. The ego was created to play a silly little game. The common human tendency is to unconsciously give credit to your ego for freeing yourself. Don't give credit to anyone or anything because you were always free.

I had the worst migraine for 12 hours straight last night, I was wriggling in my bed and getting nauseous it was so bad. So I just sat there and started to basically meditate (which actually made the headache more acute) but eventually, and this was weird, the incessant and raging stinging had a sweetness “underneath” it so speak. It was still awful, but I felt a happiness growing in me, that I could see pain for what it was (at least in that instance and for that moment).

My Son got a certain type of migraine I learned a few years ago He had a very bad Dr who had to have known this from his charts (?) There are different types of migraines as you may know? My Son died because the Dr hadn't given him a scan for 4 years If the Dr had given a scan every year as all the Drs even on youtube stated He would likely still be alive now My sweet Son died at 47 suddenly from a stroke that was likely avoidable Take care hope I'm not meddling ugh

So what do I do about my 95 year old mother, very disabled, who lives with me? My four dogs? My children who both have mental illnesses? I don't desire to look after them all, but if I don't, who will? Where is the freedom for me?
@AdvaiticOneness1

In Advaita Vedanta, true freedom is found in recognizing the oneness of all existence. Embrace the understanding that the burdens you carry are part of the interconnected web of life. While responsibilities may seem overwhelming, remember that selfless actions, performed without attachment to the fruits of your efforts, lead to inner freedom. Cultivate love and compassion in caring for your family, knowing that the essence of freedom lies in the boundless heart that transcends individual concerns.

How can you get further away from Brahman when you are Brahman? I mean I get what you're saying but that particular dynamic only exists in the secondary reality which includes it's (lust etc.. ) effect on the astral and subtle bodies. Of course Buddhist practitioners would call b.s. on that perspective but my thinking is much more in alignment with Advaita Vendanta. I mean, it just makes more logical sense and the fact that they use logical analysis to purport and prove their spiritual principles and view of reality is difficult to argue with though many do, and should of course.

This book is not for beginners and in Hinduism you have to lead years of yogic way of life, meditation and discipline, only after that these Scriptures are recommended. Otherwise reading this without proper background knowledge of spiritual life will bring doubts and unsatisfactions regarding the knowledge!

Perhaps this is why there is the controversy New Age view that souls plan their lives and deaths and don't seem to care about the amount of suffering/abuse/event as long as the lesson gets learned. (But why 'choose' all the suffering/being "evil" when trauma always carries on to the next life with no memories? It sounds like a trap.) They don't seem to care about them being what we call "good" or "bad" individuals in certain lifetimes and time doesn't seem to be a factor either (reincarnation into the past?). Some New Age views say that souls have to reach the highest evolution levels and complete all the incarnations to merge with Source, but others describe NDEs when they merge with Source and already have access to all knowledge. I'm guessing our Oversoul/Atman (all our past life selves) always stays connected to Source and it divides itself into pieces/souls for incarnation and evolution (like Source does for everything else). It's all very confusing.
@Hermit-lo7bw
@Hermit-lo7bw 10 ай бұрын
It's confusing because the mind has the habit of over-complicating what is essentially a very simple message. I would keep it as simple as possible and question every concept that is not backed up by my own direct experience. When you begin with the basics, everything falls into place as the false is clearly seen and discarded. If you begin with what is not of your experience, that's when confusion and doubts set in, and the endless search for freedom, reality, enlightenment, God, or whatever.

At some point, the free unchanging true self must have willed to enter into the illusion and experience suffering and ignorance and forgetfulness. Why would it do this? And what is the nature and purpose of this Maya and illusion that we are working so hard to unravel? Anyone, please? Thank you.
@Hermit-lo7bw
@Hermit-lo7bw 10 ай бұрын
To say the 'true self' willed to enter the illusion is to attribute reality with human qualities. The reality of what we are is not limited to the human world and its values. What applies to the physical world of time and space is not applicable to that which is timeless, limitless, boundless, and unborn. To ask, "Why would it do this?" is also what is known as an unfit or false question because it implies there is a reason or purpose to things and events. The concepts of meaning and purpose are valid from the relative point of view of the person but not from the impersonal standpoint of reality or true self. The mind knows no reality other than the one of time and space which is governed by cause and effect, therefore, naturally asks, why, when, what, where, who, and how, without realizing these questions are only valid to the realm of phenomena.

I found on my path, that once I attained the state of pure freedom, that my best option was to freely surrender to Vishnu. Being totally free is not as desirable as one may think. I was raised a Roman Catholic, and was early on imprinted with the story of Adam and Eve's expulsion from Paradise. God said to them that if you want to be totally free to disregard my rules, then you are tossed out of Paradise, and you shall earn your keep by the sweat of your brow. After many years of useless toiling, I finally came to realize that to get back into Paradise, I must freely submit to God. So attaining your absolute freedom is sort of a test, what do you do with that freedom? Using it to return to Eden, to come back to God and say "sorry for what Adam and Eve did", I now see that you are Supreme, and I freely surrender, is the way home, the way back to Paradise. How would you use your freedom?

True liberation comes when you go beyond the craving for freedom and recognize that you are inherently free. It's about understanding that the essence of freedom is already present within, needing no external validation.
