The answer is, the window isn't rotating back and forth, but it is constantly spinning in the same direction. The window is not a rectangle, where sides that are smaller appear farther, but instead, it's a trapezium. Try to focus at it and intently imagine that the shorter side is actually going in front and the longer side is going to the back. As it is constantly spinning in the same direction, it will alternate between: 1. The short side going in front and the long one going to the back 2. The long side going in front and the short one going to the back

Explanation: The shape that is rotating is actually not a rectangle. Instead, it's a trapezoid, angled so that the perspective makes it look like it stops rotating. It continues rotating, but because of the shape, you can barely see it. He even says that it's a trapizoid, but it is still hard to see.

This one is always fun. I am a bit more prone to see through illusions, simply because they are very cool and so I know how a lot work, leading to built in reactions that make my brain think a bit more before being completely fooled. Some are too powerful, but you can logically 'will' yourself to see through it by internalizing aggressively what is happening in reality. This one breaks a middle ground that honestly results in an almost magical way, because my experience of the object is partly real but partly very convincingly fake. While the object is at or near 90 degree angles, sideways or straight on and a bit on both ends rotation wise, I can internalize the shape and recognize the differently made ends. However, inbetween those when the pattern on the object becomes most aligned, it always snaps back to the 'intended' view, no matter how hard i stress my perception. And then after a little bit it becomes lateral enough that I continue to see reality again. So when I am trying to properly perceive this object, it is constantly warping between depths, rotating towards me, then seamlessly being far away, and then seamlessly being near again. It hurts my head haha, its completely impossible geometry that im perceiving and its pretty neat honestly.
@terigonUSAS12 Жыл бұрын

The thing with the Rubik's Cube is that the front side of the window seems to be thinning as it aligns with the back, thus making your brain "complete the movement" as if the cube was in front of the whole montage for a moment

I actually understand this, the window if I’m right is not rectangular, it is smaller on one side and bigger on the other, now because the Rubik‘s cube and ruler are to scale they appear to be properly rotating. I love illusions, and how our perception changes our reality. It makes you wonder what could exist around us that we are just unable to perceive.
@castleanthrax1833 Жыл бұрын
