in ME2 he actually had a sense of necessary moral grey to accomplish what the Alliance and Council wouldn't take seriously. Then in 3 they straight up just make him a bad guy who turns his entire army into husks lmao

We play the same games? ME2 it's painfully obvious he's a villain to literally everyone else but you're forced to work with him since he's the only one listening to and funding Shepard. ME3 he starts off trying to reason with Shepard but also realising he won't be able to. As the Reapers invade, his indoctrination is sped up to the point of compelling him to implant soldiers as well as himself eventually
@derpina83306 ай бұрын
@@blipus8711 His motivations were always rooted in his belief that humanity had the potential to be the dominant force in the galaxy. In mass effect 2 his methods were indeed morally ambiguous, but his goal was to protect and advance humanity, using any means neccessary. This often put him at ods with other factions who didn't prioritize humanity's interests. He only truly became villain when the reapers' indoctrination took hold, manipulating his intentions and driving him to actions that serve the reapers agenda rather than humanity's. His descent into a villain is a tragic result of his obsession and the Reapers' manipulation. And yes i played all three titles multiple times through out my young adult life.

@@derpina8330 I wasn't responding to you. I agree with you that he's a good character and villain since he falls victim to the same type of surreptitious indoctrination that ruined the Protheans

I mean.... You litterally can control the reapers tho

I'm mean sort of you still die and an Ai controls the reaper it's just the Ai's motives were coded from the motives of the one who sacrifice ld themselves

That’s exactly what an Indoctrinated person would say

The illusive Man became a villain the moment he started using Reaper Tech
@CammyAlwaysWins2 ай бұрын
He was a villain before then. Long before Reaper Tech was even a knowledge. If you think about it, TIM is a lot like Arthas in WoW when he stepped on the path of righteousness that led him to damnation. Road to Hell is paved with good intentions - Jack thought he was doing good, but he did it by any means necessary which often put human lives he was trying to protect at risk
@benjaminekelley44504 ай бұрын
He didn't believe he could control the reapers till indoctrination, it is subtle and they highlight your worst or most useful treats to indoctrinate
@CammyAlwaysWins2 ай бұрын
His eyes are not prosthetic, they might be somewhat cybernetic. They were changed by Arca Monolith during FCW but the exact nature of the transformation was never explained, so it’s hard to determine if his eyes are cybernetic or were altered by the energy of Arca Monolith into smth completely different. But they are def not prosthetics

He was a great character in ME 2 but ME 3 writers destroyed him
@CammyAlwaysWins2 ай бұрын
Not really. He was always showing deranged tendencies, [his obsession with the] Reapers simply brought that to the surface & dialed up to 11. Saren was done far dirtier by the writers than TIM.

Yea he was a bad dude. Blinded by hubris and pride. Thought the end justified the means and that's just not always true. He was a xenophobe and saw reality in a warped way. He did some things that helped in the end, but was never a good man.

I mean... Cerberus is pretty messed up. There are a few missions in ME1 that show this, but a bunch of time is taken in 2 and 2 to show how horrifying and unethical their methods are. I've also been replaying the games so the examples are fresh in my head

Sounds like a track from one of the Silent Hill games. Edit: I found it. "Never Forgive Me, Never Forget Me" from Silent Hill 3.
