i honestly believe that this and coming forward about her story definitely could have saved her life. i did a research project on homicide (in the U.S. but still) but a large portion of my research was into domestic violence. i found out that 75% of people who are killed by their abusive partner are killed after the breakup. breakup violence is a huge thing to keep in mind when leaving an abusive relationship. NEVER agree to meet your abuser alone after you break up with them. tell people who care about you and can help keep you safe. make sure you’re not fighting it alone 🫶

@@shannonholleAlso I know you did your research based on the US, but I believe the statistic on breaking up is similar internationally. THIS. “Narcissistic” is just an adjective describing a particular pattern of behaviour. A person can be narcissistic without having NPD, it’s not a word that’s exclusive to the disorder. Similarly someone can behave in a way that’s “antisocial” without having Antisocial Personality Disorder. It’s not “armchair diagnosing someone” or “stigmatizing a disorder” to describe someone as narcissistic if they are acting narcissistic.

parasocial relationships, there's a reason many need to be reminded to keep their heads on straight and remember you don't know these people and what they do day to day. on top of that, this happens in real life all the time. many people have been put into the situation where you think you know someone relatively well, but they're still a piece of shit abuser to their partner. you're just not the target of that behavior, so you go along none the wiser, especially people who haven't been properly educated on realistic signs of domestic abuse. it's one of the many reasons abusive people often keep their friends or ppl who support them, the friends are completely blindsided and they don't want to believe someone they know could be behaving like that behind closed doors. so they let their comfort take priority over moral integrity.

Seeing the screenshot of him saying that Alice opening up about her SA was 'ruining' their time together made me feel so sick on the inside. Genuinely I cried for her and the horror she must have faced. Alice is unbelievably brave going public about this and I wish her only the best. As someone whos ex reacted similarly to my SA, I hope Alice's voice is uplifted and she can heal and be finally free.❤ Thank you Adam for covering this.

Literally, him describing her SA as “talking about weird shit” like it was just an annoyance and an inconvenience to him was so chilling. It’s IMPORTANT to be open and honest with partners (when it’s safe to do so) about past experiences especially traumatic things that can affect a person emotionally and sexually and how they function in a relationship. He should have been supporting her and thanking her for being honest and open with him, it was really brave of her to talk about her past experience of SA and she deserved to be treated with respect and care. Instead she was shat on, disrespected and treated like she was wrong or bad for telling him something so personal and vulnerable.
@awkwardangle97
@awkwardangle97 7 ай бұрын
@@liesbeneathoureyes exactly it must have been so painful to get her vulnerability and willingness to open up get thrown back in her face. Really genuinely horrific to experience and hear that your partner thinks your trauma, a source of humiliation guilt shame and all these overwhelming negative emotions as well as the mental and physical toll of the trauma itself to be "weird shit." Why the fresh hell would that be anyone's response to their partner's vulnerability? In those moments, Alex should have been comforting her rather than verbally attacking her. Making her feel bad for bringing it up and likely shaming her into being silent about in the future. Unfathomable levels of cruelty from Alex 🤢🤢🤢 So disgusting and scummy from him. To call out creeps in the public and shame a survivor of SA in private makes my stomach churn. The hypocrisy and lack of intergrity is another layer of slime from him yuck.

I've been with my partner for 6 years and really struggle to talk about stuff that happened to me along the lines of SA/R, because he gets angry or depressed or it 'ruins his time' he always tells me "later" or "do we have to talk about this now" so I got used to keeping it in and if I ever bring it up now, I feel so ashamed, stupid and guilty talking about it. Why can't we just support people?? Listen to them when they want to talk about sometimes that was traumatic?

As someone who grew up in a DV household, this is extremely triggering- not just the content but the fact that people are blaming the victim for "not leaving". This behavior is disgusting, reprehensible and has nothing to do with the victims acting or not acting. As a reminder, abusers don't start out this way. They start off kind/ normal and then over time reveal their true selves. Honestly there's a special place in hell for people like that. Thank you Adam for sharing this information because as upsetting as it is to see, it's important to bring these things to light. ❤

There are tons and tons of rape happening and all of it gets covered up. What come out is nothing but a nail in a pile of hay. However justice will be served to them if not in this life it will in the afterlife.

I don't know if you experienced this, but my ex would go through periods where he was totally normal, which made me feel like it was okay if he went off his hinges (to put it lightly) sometimes because I knew a side of him where he was a "good guy". I remember he once yelled at me in public because he walked into the shopping cart and hurt himself. He said I stopped too quickly out of nowhere. Even if that were true (which it isn't), yelling at someone in public is crazy! Still stayed with him after that because he was normal sometimes. I'll also never understand how you can yell at someone while they're crying. Yelling is one thing, but you can hear her crying and he continues to yell at her anyway.

As someone who was in an abusive relationship for 3 years I feel that I can speak on things like this. Hearing those videos was honestly like reliving those moments. His tone, the way he words he uses, the way he words everything, it’s uncanny. truly believes that he is right, that he did no wrong,he isn’t the problem. and then once faced with consequences he apologizes for everything he did. It only goes to show they DO know what they are doing and they know how it makes others feel. Narcissists thrive off of using others until there is literally nothing more they can get, if you are lucky enough, you leave before your discarded. But that’s their whole game. They will find someone who fits their perfect mold and try to condition them to believe that the person is lucky to have them, they will tell them everything they want to hear, do everything with them, grand gestures even small ones. Before you know it all those red flags you dismissed pop up all at once, you connect all the dots and realize, the person you met was never even real. Then you leave and they apologize they beg they cry they hurt themselves they guilt trip you they will do anything in their power to get you to feel bad for them. They will act like the person you first met. And that’s how it stays until either one of three things happens: •Abusive partner discards the abused •abused partner leaves • abuser kills the abused I’m glad she left him and I’m glad she’s okay. He is a seriously disturbed person. I have no doubt in my heart that she would have been seriously injured if she had stayed with him. With that being said if you are in an abusive relationship or feel that you are, I urge you to please get help. If you know someone who is in an abusive relationship PLEASE be a helping hand. If they don’t want to leave the relationship just let it be known that you are someone they can turn to if anything ever happens. It’s disturbing that this is happening to so so so many young people.

That's horrifying. I'm proud of you for leaving friend. I hope you've been able to find better people in your life and that you've found the kindness you deserve as a human. Leaving toxic people fucking guts you. And I can only imagine how it felt knowing he did that to himself. Your so strong. It's not your fault. That person was ill and needed a lot of help that wasn't your responsibility. I'm so proud of you for leaving.

EXACTLY. Love bombing is the term for it They’ll give all this love at the beganing, to get their partner attached , and so victim has an idea of what their abusers like when their “good” But then when the abuser gets comfortable and feel like they have more control of a situation, they dgaf, and treat their partner like sh-t Leading the victim to be mind f-cked because , the bad is so bad, but the good is “so good”(it’s usually the bare minimum )and that’s apart of mental manipulation

I blocked an abusive friend with BPD after he berated me and it was the final straw. I never said goodbye and this is exactly how he acted... like me escaping a toxic situation gave him trauma. Like I owed him anything after how he treated me. Its scary to see it happen again and again. Alex and my ex friend both need help that they seem to refuse to get, and it stops being sympathetic when they hurt people. I know plenty of lovely people w BPD who have done the work and improved themselves. There's no excuse.

How can he sit down at that desk every day making his comentary vidoes, coveing contrevertial and dangerous people on the internet, when he is one of those people himself? Especially bc the slazo situation was kinda big. Like, a decent handful of creators were involved in it. I SWEAR if this situation gets swept under the rug too, I'm gonna become the most vocal imalexx hater ever. As an SA survivor, I genuinely hate imalexx with EVERY fiber of my being. Edit: Ooh, since you didn't mention it in the video, I think the slazo/hyojin situation is due a revisiting. It's a lot tho so I understand if you don't want to.

Him jumping the gun with the Slazo allegations makes soooo much sense now. It was all projection. He reminds me of my narc ex. Who would say so many of the same things. Then acting pathetic when it all ends. "I was trying" "you didn't try hard enough" when they do shit like this. And with the messages its such a narc move to try to have the final word, with the guilt tripping. He's saying all the "right" things. I am a domestic violence survivor and the way he talk to her is so uncanny and freaky because the abusers obviously have a similar playbook, but the words he was using and how he was using them is so reminiscence to my abuse.
