I used to do cabinets for a living and this is pretty much accurate. Owners don't want to take responsibility for any choices, but if you do anything they haven't explicitly signed off on, it's wrong no matter what it is.

We are spoiled and have too many choices in the first place. I had my kitchen done and they gave me the detailed catalog and of course my wife also had a lot to say. It took weeks to make the cabinet order. Then we had to pick out and order handles. I did a lot of the work on the kitchen. That was the easy part.
