I often feel the post-Endor Empire is a very interesting idea, the point when they realize they are losing their grip to this so called Rebellion, and knocked off their perch. I've literally just finished watching a video by Eckhartsladder about how the SSD was taken down and then this appeared.

Another Rethink: What if the death stars were never built/made? = What if Palpatine decided to use Thrawn’s smart strategies with all the empire’s resources available away from the space stations in using large fleets of ships and well-equipped fighters as the empire’s main strategy overall instead?

Yes! I 2nd this motion. 🙋🏻‍♂️ Pour money into Tie Defenders and Lancer Frigates. 1 American aircraft carrier has like 7 to 10 ships escorting it. I believe that every star destroyer should be treated the same and without pissing money away on death stars, the Empire’d have the money to fund these escorts.

There are too many people too name for the failure of the Imperial Navy. Ultimately it dose fall on Palpatine as he placed himself at the head of everything, however, the warlord's, Moff's, Admirals and so on. In addition, manning their shipyards with people not totally loyal to the Empire, or not even an ounce of loyalty as many were possibly slaves. As I've said before in the comment section, if the Emprie took advantage of low automation and feed the extra income into a larger military where the average person may have been more willing to serve, in exchange for a better life, employment of some kind and possibly a far better education provided they stay within the military. If this happened then the riots may have either been mild or not have happened as the few biological manning the near automated or fully automated facilities would have been Imperial Military.

You forgot to mention Operation Cinder. The few Admiral's who were fanatically loyal to Sidious, destroyed several Imperial worlds that could have become the nucleus of a new Imperial counter offensive. Most of the worlds that were culled during the Operation were Imperial strongholds, and with their fall, the Imperial navy lost not only a valuable fall back spot, but all the resources that a loyal world could offer a ship in need.

I believe Palpatine said that an Empire that cannot protect it's Emperor doesn't deserve to survive, so I blame him for the crumbling of his once powerful starfleet after Endor. Had he not been so vain and envisioned an Empire that existed long after his rule came to an end, he would have chosen a successor or at least planned strategies and failsafes to make sure his death (and the deaths/destruction of other important assets) were planned for and prepared against. His Operation Cinder command felt like him saying if I can't have it, nobody can, and frankly I thought those satellites were taken out fairly easy by the New Republic, it's like did he not consider that his weapons would come under attack? I think had it been planned out thoroughly and all possible events accounted for, Endor may not have been the beginning of the end for the Empire. The navy might be forced into the defensive, but it would still be formidable. Palpatine could have even assigned a council of Moffs to govern in the event of his death, 13 to be precise to avoid any political deadlocks. I would call it The Council of 13, or maybe just Imperial High Council. With proper leadership and efficient tactics they could have held onto the galaxy for a lot longer before maybe eventually having to consider making peace with the New Republic.

J.M. Marshall Palpatine didn't plan on there being an end to his rule: he believed with absolute certainty that, through the Dark Side, he could and would make himself immortal (I 100% believe he covertly manipulated Vader being fucked up on Mustafar to ensure that his apprentice never became powerful enough to kill him first), thereby forever removing even the possibility of such a contingency.

@@TPTGopher hm, see I read somewhere that Sidious wanted Anakin as he was before Mustafar and considered leaving him to die on Mustafar but had put too much effort into Skywalker to allow him to perish. I think Vader knew that Sidious was always on the lookout for his next apprentice, and going into legends territory, Sidious wanted an apprentice like Starkiller or perhaps even a Kylo Ren. The suit Vader had restricted him to some degree, and he had to retrain to adapt to his new life. Sidious even said to Luke he should strike Vader down and take his place at his side as his new apprentice. Sidious wanted to replace Vader with his son. And getting back to the end of his rule, well, he should have done. For a mastermind who covertly orchestrated an entire civil war and manipulated his way to the top of government with all his machinations, he should have foreseen that his legacy would be his Empire that could last centuries after him. In the end, I think it comes down to he failed to plan, and thus planned to fail :)

I never get why those admirals and warlords wanted to follow the scorch policy so bad. Instead of using everything they have left to fight the New Republic, they fight themselves for powers. Also, what will happen if the Separatists won the Second Battle of Felucia?

Imps with a stable chain of command could had easily crushed rebel/new republic's fleet. However, the Rebellion had won after Endor. New rebel factions were emerging by the hour. In short: empire could had easily *avenged* their liege, but they couldn't win anymore in the long run.

My Emperor being over confidence trying bring Rebel to a trap at same time he allow Darth Vader to be reunited with his son Luke Skywalker so they can bring him to Darkside of The Force. Lord Vader cave into his weakness that cause Emperor his life and destruction of The 2nd Death Star. Emperor should have waited for 2nd Death Star to be finished and Killed Skywalker himself without Vader being around. I wasn't at Battle of Endore I heard horrible news while I was on Port of Call on my home planet Naboo. Our morale went down. Our Fleet Fought The Rebels long as we can what's left of our leadership start falling apart. Rebels did not destroyed The Empire. The Emperor did

I the fleet would've agreed on killing eachother after destroying the NR they could stand a chance vs. it. But if only (say a warlord like Zinj) would have only used TIE Defenders against the NR (to protect against NR Fighters) he could wipe the flor with the NR.

im guessing the Emperors critical condition stopped him from being able to rule so the Empire was on tis own. In my head canon Palapintines new body took time to be able to gain consciosnous and he wasn't conscious untl after the fall of the EMpire

Fuel in sense of material that is spent in the process of producing energy - even fusion or fission powered vessels have to refuel at some point, especially if it was going with high speeds and/or perform combat manoeuvres
