I think the smaller shields mounted on the arms would be useless becase it would require a lot of training to protect oneself with them from blaster fire. but I think the large shields that one can hold like the gungans or the commando droids in the citadel were useing would be extreamly usefull. specialy in urban warfare like in corridors with little to no cover. you say the clones used a lot of cover, that might be true when possible, but I think the jedi and clone commanders often fail at planing to use cover and charge in. for those charges and last stands shields would be of incredible value

The only reason snowtroopers are a thing is because they had to recycle the helmets from a new hope because they had to repair the originals. There was not a lot of those helmet and they had to come up with something to explain why the stormtrooper had a different helmet. It was a cheap setup by George Lucas but it was super effective.

What's funny is The Republic Military was far more functional. Something like the Resurgence Class Star Destroyer to act as a replacement for the Standard ISD and the Venator and the Nebula Class could consolidate frigets or even corvettes (although, you might reclassify it as a Crusier)

TIEs were made by Sienar, not Kuat (the fact I know this off the top of my head makes me question my life). I also don't really agree that they were pumped out (at least solely) as a moneymaking scheme. The point of the TIE programme was that the militarisation of the Empire required such an obscene number of fighter craft to be posted all-over the galaxy that they needed the most efficient design possible. Sacrificing shields, life support and hypderdrives meant that the per-unit cost of the TIEs was reduced to an extent that they could be cranked out. In the long-term, I imagine they would have been a stopgap. Hyperdrives are also arguably not all that necessary on carrier-borne craft/short-range intercetpros. Also, if it's helpful, Corps is pronounced "Core" even by us Brits!

While it sucked to be abandoned and adrift in space inside a damaged TIE fighter, the same can also be said about Alliance pilots who are stuck in their X wings or A wings or Y wings. Search and rescue crews on both sides of the factions often have to work overtime in salvaging and retrieving their lost or disabled pilots out in the void of space...🤯

Also the whole navigation beacon thing was the stupidest part of the movie apart from palpatine returning because how the hell can they not tell which way is up also the way to exagol is stupid as well because you should be able to go around it and it is also stupid how it went from needing a way finder to no she can just lead the way then to just not needing any sort of navigation to get there, the whole movie is shit and this video has better logic and writing that the actual fucking movie

🤔 . . . I’d probably redo this scenario into something more pragmatic/practical. For one, we’d use different templates, preferably more specialized individuals for specific tasks (this might mean we’ll be cloning non-humans as well). Second, the scope & scale might not be as much as the Clone Wars, likely more of a Policing military than a full-fledged wartime military. Lastly, I’d probably rewrite the entire scenario as a “supplement existing forces with clone forces & battle droids” scenario; the New Republic military would still have recruits & other enlisted personnel, but they would make up the majority of the command structure (officers to generals/admirals), & not the Buck Private battle droids & their cloned superiors, at minimum (i.e. the bulk of the frontline fighting forces). This way, the New Republic military wouldn’t be heavily reliant on one aspect of their forces than the other & such…

First men did actually practice feudalism and horsemanship. The reason we know this is because we have plenty of accounts of feudal lords and kings throughout the age of heroes. A big improvement for the empire would also be "don't be racist." The empire's systemic racism against non-humans drove countless non-humans away from the empire and into the arms of the rebel alliance, the Bothan spy net, the Ryloth resistance, and, of course, the Mon Calamari Shipbuilders, to name a few, were critical to the alliance's victory. The greatest mind of the empire, Thrawn, was almost murdered by racist imperial officers when he was in training.
