Interesting bit of trivia, the Viper class scout sloop as far as I know is the smallest warp capable vessel in the imperium: depending on your source it's either 500 or 950 meters long.

Playing Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 with the Skalgrim mod is strangely therapeutic. Especially when ships smash into each other like an ultra extreme bumper car experience with guns.

I love the fact that the biggest Naval Guns we have ever had is barely even considered a .22 LR round to some of the things the Imperial Navy has.... It is utterly impractical, utterly insane but Big Guns on Ships are Big Guns on Ships and they make my inner child oh so very happy :-)

steiner got the mjolnir class with heavy gauss cannons, ship sized. but they got larger sublight engine capacities in exchange for a lower dropship carry capacity still battletech vessels are seldom longer than one and a half kilometers, with the mckenna being the largest warship available and the monolith being the biggest transporter reaching half that length

18:11🤔 funny enough in my modded Starsector game right now my Flagship is a Oberon Class mixed Battleship called the IN Emperor's Ascension if anything i would call it a class of Battlecarrier than a Battleship using the Wingcom ship mod my fighter wings go and weaken the shields of most other ships then i take the Emperor's Ascension and hammer them with the lance batteries and plasma batteries for the killing blow.

why does the imperium use warp jump capable space ships? necessity. theyre the blood vessels and blood cells of the imperium, transporting nutrients and antibodies anywhere where needed. the subway/webway project got of course terminated, so space hell it is.
