Thank you for the explanation. I knew that part of the reason for burial is because of the resurrection of the dead at the end of time as we know it. This explanation clarifies how sacred the body is.

I am not Jewish, but I do follow the Tanakh (to the best of translation) as my guide. I do assume this burial commandment pertains to us just as much as Jewish, am I correct?

To my understanding if you're not Jewish, it doesn't effect you. There was a time when Catholics/ Protestants didn't allow cremation. They do now. Only 20% of Jews are observant so it's not unusual to see cremation among Jews. Does this mean only Jews and Gentiles who are buried will be resurrected? I don't think so bc that would limit G-d.

@@tonithenightowl1836 The issue is, not everyone realizes that they are Jewish. The lost tribes are amongst us. Throughout the many exiles, wars, many changed their names and migrated throughout the nations, and lost their tribal identity. The day will come when we will be identified as either Jew or gentile. One thing is for sure, we are all descendants of Noah.

Thank you rabbi for your explanation about the burial for when the people die on this time of covid in hospitals and immediately cremated against thier will the holliness will never depart from them.Shalom

Thank you rabbi,, i had a MAJOR falling out with my family over this.. they wanted to cremate my father who’s jewish..

Thank you for this teaching, I always believed that cremation is wrong....nobody in the Christian Bible is ever cremated
