"OK listen here Christopher, I have recorded in Denmark"
It's certainly no secret that David Chase had a passion for music. As throughout The Sopranos, we here plenty of influential, interesting, and different musical tracks that are each in their own way different in their meanings with the lyrics. From Evidently Chicken-town by John Cooper Clarke, or Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb, there are many songs that we could discuss their relation to the current Sopranos plot and storyline at the time of their use. In this video I hope you enjoy, I will be looking at one song from each season of The Sopranos and discussing it's importance and relevance towards the show at the time. Of course, I wanted to actually have the songs played in the video but didn't want to risk copyright!
Comment down below your thoughts about the music of The Sopranos! And let me know down below which song from the series is your favourite?👇🏻

Tiny Tears during Tony's depression episode and when hes about to be whacked is, in my opinion, the best use of outside music in not only the Sopranos, but in television history. It so perfectly exemplifies the feeling of melancholy and pain and dread and apathy and worthlessness and so on, somehow all simultaneously. And then the way the music cuts out as soon as Tony is actually being shot at, signifying that he's "awoken" from his "depression coma" and once more has gained the will and desire to live and fight for his life. It's beautiful and simply perfect.

One of my favorite choices of music is when Tony scolds Janice about Harpo. The music when he walks out makes it seem like he’s done something badass instead of just him being an asshole. Absolutely hilarious. I know it probably is supposed to be how Tony feels, but the idea of him feeling badass from doing that is so funny to me compared to all the other “badass” stuff he does throughout the whole show

Years ago I remember seeing a fan recut of jackie jr's wake where they layered black sabbath's heaven and hell into the scene. I remember getting chills because it fit so perfectly with the situation, especially the lyrics of the first verse which go: "Sing me a song, you're a singer, Do me a wrong, you're a bringer of evil, The devil us never a maker, The less that you give, you're a taker. But its on, and on, it's heaven and hell"

great video. Agree with all the choices. Would add 'Goin Down Slow' by Howlin Wolf, played more than once as Tony's downward skid gets worse and worse. Also 'Bell Bottom Blues' which Tony is playing to test his new sound system. He and Carm are momentarily happy in this scene but the song, a sad blues about breaking up, foreshadows what is about to happen next (Carm gets the call from Tony's ex, which leads to their separation).

You should do a video on the significance of each episode title. I've noticed a good amount (not all, necessarily) of the episode titles appear twice in the episode: once as a literal name drop, and the second is some keystone event in the episode that the title describes well. For example: in "Two Tonys", there's Tony describing his outer appearance and inner personality to Melfi, directly saying "there's two tonys", and of course the debut of Tony B. In "For All Debts Public and Private", the title is of course in relevance to the money conflicts of the episode, from Carmela nagging Tony to him yelling at the guys and being frankly depressed and ashamed. Then the $20 bill Christopher puts on his mother's fridge has the disclaimer printed on the bill itself.
