Nice review. I only use Woodlore products including shoe trees, shoe stackers, sock boxes, tie and belt racks, etc. As you point out, Woodlore makes high quality cedar wood products. I’ve been happy with everything I’ve purchased from Woodlore. I find that the trick is to wait for one of Woodlore’s cost savings sales. Very informative and interesting video! Good job!

Kavalier, I'm a fan of your video's and appreciate your expertise. I own quite a few pair of Allen Edmonds that range from a few years to 16-17 years. I've sent some to Allen Edmonds over the years for refurbishing & returned as they were brand new. Although I am retired from a secular position which required a suite, dress shirt, and tie, I still wear a shirt and tie. As you've said in other video's, you are given a different respect. I have a question which I have not found the answer to, and that is; why are "shoe trees" called "shoe trees"? Now retired, I write novels and have to do a lot of research. However, I have been unable to find the answer. What I did find was people would tie their shoes together with the shoe laces and toss them into a tree so the dead could come and put them on to walk above the clouds. There are many different folk lore but no reason as to why "shoe trees' are called "shoe trees." I was hoping you have an inkling to why. Thank you, fred. fredberri.com

Woodlore has some good deals. Only one pair of shoe trees got messed up from the shoe tree or my mistake the shoes started developing creases on the Carlyle on a spare pair that were never used but left in box as I wanted a second pair for rotation but never used them. So the sizing for the shoe tree suggested by AE may have been off.

heartwood vs sapwood, the sapwood as it implies is the part of the tree that carries the sap up the tree to leaves

Appreciate the video. A few questions; what’s the ideal timing to place them in the shoe, right after taking the shoes off or waiting overnight? Also, what to do if you find mold on the shoe tree regarding sanitizing the shoe and the shoe tree? Thank you for all the info you post on your channel

Nice footage! Was hoping this would be (wood be?) longer; however, the editing was well done (well tailored?). Would be neat to hear from someone in product dev or operations at Woodlore and let them give voice to what they’re doing there. Perhaps some other time.

You don't reactivate anything. You just open the pores on the surface of the wood by sanding, and the scent comes out naturally.
