I’ve only worn Allen Edmonds through my work career, with an occasional pair of Alden’s. My oldest AE’s - black Park Avenues - were purchased in 1989. They’ve been recrafted a number of times and still look nearly new. Retired now, I’ve sold some pairs but still own 6-7. I’ve seen their quality diminish some, but they’re still fine shoes. Should I ever want newer dress shoes, I’ll definitely try a pair of Thursday shoes. My first pair of their boots come next week.

re: wideness, i emailed jak's CS to ask about their width, and they said all their stuff was a brannock "D" width, which is wider than a Nike or sth. not as good as having multiple width options but it does mean i can wear them, unlike a lot of these
