Oh yeah, easily the best thing you can do to be faster in that game Also a very enjoyable in-game manual is Prostreet, it's not necessary but very nice with clutch as well, i recommend binding it to space bar

Can confirm, I lost to Matt a lot. Its the reason I rage quitted back when I had my PS2. But in this challenge, I would've have lost every single car in Kurt's killer ride. Not sure whats up with that race, but last time I beat this game legitimelly, that race took me 50+ tries. The AI just wouldn't stop rubberbanding, ever.

I recently beat underground. And Events 95, 103, and 112 are definitely the hardest. But i wouldn't call it rubberbanding. It feels more like the A.I. is scripted or rigged. They behave mostly normal when behind, but if they pass, they're fast as hell and take turns like nothing. But Every track has certain points where they speed up or slow down. So it felt like solving a puzzle/learning their pattern. If they're ahead, just gotta keep close so you can pass when they slow down at that certain point. If they're behind, watch the minimap and look behind to watch them and keep them blocked. And just push them against the wall to make them chill out from time to time, if they drive beside you.

@@BubbleGumGuy-gx1xj The game by itself uses heavy rubberband speeds when you are really far away. Easy difficulty makes opponents slower, so the difference between you and the next one can be really big, rubberband kicks in, 720 km/h with perfect grip opponent flings beside you.

This map brings memories, that night map with the 3 hills down before sharp left across the line and through the tunnel through to the optional 2 road straight, back on the family console my sister and I would split screen this and either pretend to be real drivers or make a traffic jam line of cars by the pedestrian walk way tunnel / building site, took ages to push and shove those NPC’s into a line and then smash into them with a big run up, hours of joy, and most definitely not in the intended way by the developer , NFS Underground, what a game !

honestly the best cars in my opinion for Underground 1 would have to be the miata, lancer, rx7, rsx, civic, and the s2000. the s2000 was insane for drags, but can be easily killed cuz of traffic. and i had so much time on the lancer that i nearly perfected it. I think the lancer is slept on, but that's me being biased cuz it's my dream car.

Actually I think every opponents in that event can just rubber band like crazy depending on their position. For me, Jarrus (the one in S2000) was really my problem, so I had to block him off for a while after the race start

You're doing allright playing this game. Try stock tires when driftchallenge One of the fastest car is probably the rx7, but somewhat tricky to drive. I drove the miata. The best laptimes i had was like 41-40sec laps driving the miata full upgrades on Madison square (think its called), 8-10 Laos continu, automatic shift, without using nos.. ☺️

Well, some widescreen fix made by ThirteenAG have gamepads support so you can play with controllers without any problems, I use my Xbox Series S controller and it works very well, you can also use Playstation controllers too

Its an AI "feature" that tries to maintain race excitement by speeding up opponent cars to make sure you cannot go too far ahead. When AI is behind, it gets speed boost so no matter how well you perform, you cannot lose AI from your tail.
