3. ...h6 is some kind of Anti-Fried Liver Attack line. I see it quite often. It is not a huge mistake, but yes, we can say it is sub-optimal move. White should respond with 4. d4, attacking the center immediately and preparing dark square bishop development. Black shoud not go for exchange variation 4. ...exd4 5. Nxd4 Nxd4 6. Qxd4 Ne7 because it gets him behind in development and white with a comfortable position, but most of them do that to avoid getting doubled pawns on c-file. I won a lot of games with this variation. Also, after 6. Qxd4, naturally looking 6. ...c5 (kicking the queen) is a terrible mistake, allowing 7. Qd5 Qf6 8. O-O Ne7 9. Qxc5 and white is in superior position. Instead, black should play 5. ...Nf6 6. Nc3 Bb4 7. Nxc6 bxc6 8. O-O O-O and yes, white is slightly better but position for black is playable, with chances for both sides. This lines are tested with Stockfish 16, and white needs to play very sharp and precise to achive a victory.

nice game agad. I'm way less rated than you, but at minute 14:04, after night C5 to d3, you should have defended with bishop e5 to d4. it essentially protects your pawn and sets a little nasty trap if black wishes to capture you. in addition, if black is careless and moves the night to f4 to cut the rook connection off, you can go bishop c5 check, top rook check followed by bottom rook check to win a rook. (so of course black will ignore you, and likely play pawn c7 to c5. this will cause your bishop to retreat to e3). thats still good, because you would have excellent pressure on his position. what do you think?

He played the anti-fried liver attack. That's what's H6 is called which is funny since at 2200, you don't encounter much fried liver attacks, and the attack itself isn't that great for white if black knows the proper way to deal with it, and it's an easy line tbh... H6 is just sub-optimal.

I know those side moves like his pawn to g6 gets so much hate but I always find them super annoying and they can really change how openings are played by both players. The Ruy Lopez is stopped, you eliminate outpost for your opponents's knight and you also provide protection for a bishop or knight push yourself. I know it loses tempo but I will always play it if my opponent plays any slow moves.

Can you tell us how the replay checks work? How do you know what move is bad /good? and whose is ahead??
@sleepycritical6950
@sleepycritical6950 Жыл бұрын
From his perspective there's an eval bar. But basically he tried a risky mating tactic which didn't work. Rg1 resulted in that loss so a blunder, but he should have moved Rh7 with the idea of then executing the same mating tactic, Bf6 and Rh8# because now the advanced rook cannot be threatened by the king after the knight does his checks like before. So to save the game black needs to move the king out of the net with e7 as he said in the vid, defending f6 square from the white bishop and the game continues most likely to a draw.
