A tiny correction to your tiny correction. There's an earlier recording/music video for In Bloom featuring Chad on drums before Dave was part of Nirvana, therefore saying Dave was the one on the recording is partially correct...as there are more than one recordings. And like I said, there's a whole other music video for the song from before Nevermind as well.

One of my favorite Taylor moments of his career was helping a band in shambles and recorded the drums for Coheed and Cambria's No World for Tomorrow album when their drummer walked out for years. Taylor crushed writing and recording such an amazing album for the band. And kudos to Josh Eppard, the said drummer walking out, for getting clean and coming back to slay the drums with one of my favorite bands! Great video as always!

I was lucky enough to see the Foo Fighters in 3 different countries over like a 10 period. It might seems silly to say as a 30 something dude that his death upset me so much I cried more than once. I am a jazz trained drummer who grew up as a musician listening to Coltrane and Miles albums, but I started with The Beatles and a lot of Taylor's influences. I had a rock band at 16 which was about to go big but the singer was an alcoholic and never since I had tried that again. About a week after Taylor passed away, I went to a rock jam in town and they called up a Nirvana song. I went up to the drums and bashed the kit with all my might. At the end, I just said "This one was for Taylor" and the place erupted. This is how much influence the man has. After this, my drumming style changed more and more and I am now rocking my own post punk band and also got hired by an amazing rock singer songwriter. I now realize, looking back, that without that night at the bar I wouldn't be where I am today, this close to my ultimate dream... so Taylor, if you see this, wherever you are, your spirit will never shop shining upon us!!! ROCK ON!!!!! Rest In Power

@@stanfordkoch1271 No. I'm sorry - just, no. Yes, I know how much of a monster Josh is. I fully understand that his ability on paper is probably superior, technically and what not. But to say that he's of "another caliber" than someone who caused an audience to create an earthquake is just insane. His energy was unmatched, period. He got me back into my love of rock drumming after I had given up years ago and I'm now in two bands and very close to the dream after having played for 20 years and giving up on my own band 10 years ago before doing it again. Taylor was my primary inspiration for this. And, I'm a jazz trained drummer who hadn't played rock in years. Think about this.

To have played and written songs alongside Nirvana's troubled yet amazingly talented Kurt Cobain, then pull himself together to form his one-man-band Foo Fighters, grow it all again with talent of the likes of Taylor Hawkins, only to lose him too to overdose. Next to foos and coheed and cambria, and maybe one or two other bands, I mean, his own band? In my top 5 bands ever. Great video anyway. made me cry again even though it’s been two years at this post? I heard your voice get graveley…. And. I immediately remembered where I was: with my girlfriend outside her apartment. She walked up to meet me and, I said that one of my biggest (rock) drumming influences is dead. And I got her more into foo fighters so she knew what it was about. ..And we also were both in active addiction at the time, so… Now I have a year clean, and I’m playing more gigs and, I am greatful for all their inspiration, and your video too, again!

Great video and I love the tiny microphone. I’ve been an EMT for almost a decade… there’s no such thing as a collapsed heart. Opiate overdose causes you to stop breathing (respiratory arrest) while your heart keeps pumping. As your blood is depleted of oxygen (fuel for cells in the body including heart cells) your heart begins to die. When there is no oxygen left for your myocardial cells (heart muscle cells) to use it stops pumping (cardiac arrest) RIP to the millions of people that have died from drug overdose.

Everything about Dave and Foo's is so underrated. This band is the Beatles 2.0 and so many people are sleeping on all this.

Grohl, Hawkins, Taylor, Bonham, Copeland, Tre Cool are all my inspirations. I don't play as often as I used to or as often as I should these days but my days in bands were some of the best. I've never used a metronome live and rarely in practice as I have perfect time. And a drummer has to hit hard. If you can't be heard, you can't drive the band

Many drummers these days just don't know that you're supposed to hit drums hard. Drummers from the 90s really had that part nailed down. Big drums, big cymbals, hard hits.

Dave didn’t write the intro to In Bloom, Chad Channing did. Dave said so himself when he got inducted into the hall of fame

Finally going to see them at Louder Than Life this year. It's a shame that Taylor won't be on stage, but he'll definitely be with the crowd.

Dave didn't play drums on In Bloom. He said so at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction, naming the guy who did. Grohl and Novaselic were upset that they couldn't bring the previous drummer.
