its just running high spec hardware at low power levels. There is nothing special about it, and it wont perform better than any other laptop with a worse cpu/gpu at the same cooling capacity. Youre essentially paying more for bragging rights but getting the exact same performance

probably 80-95 Watt on the 3080 as that's the lowest you can go as per the Nvidia spec, and is what they use on the Blade 15

NotebookCheck says the 3080 has a minimum 80w which i'd imagine the Blade has like the 3070 one did. They really need to make it more clear since an 80W 3080 is probably weaker than a 140W 3070.

They are doing really well at the mobile end, even beating Intels newest lineup by a long shot. Though with 130 system wattage, i doubt this pc will do any good. The GPU will be throttled down way to hard, the GPU can have a maximum of like 70-80 Watts, and a 3080 runs best at 150-200. This is why 3080 laptop GPU usually is around a 2070 compared to a standard rtx in a PC. It's just down to throtteling.

My desktop is the water cooled 5900x and 3080 got both of these on launch date exactly before many others had theres bought a corsair prebuilt worth every penny people cant even find these specs for building for $3000 per gpu hahah, this laptop will be a beast of a laptop for sure. Great video.

It's definitely a niche product. A 15 inch laptop isn't that much bigger and probably has 115w+ GPUs. Also, this 14 inch razer probably has a max cpu TDP of 35w.

Go for a Zephyrus M16! Intel does drain your battery life faster and makes the laptop a bit noisier but it definitely seems worth it to me.

I couldn't agree more! Sadly the m16 is only a 80w (100w boost) 3070. And i would prefer the more efficient Ryzen over Intels. I would imagine with the same trickery as on this 14". Razer could make a 16" with 120w 3070. Love my current Razer Blade 2019 Advanced. But 300 nits is to dim in some situations and the RTX 2070 performs subpar. I wanna be ready for Diablo 2 Resurrected!

There is no way it's gonna have gr8 performance with 130 system Watts. an RTX3080 can take over 200 Watts, more than the adaptor at 130 W can provide to the entire system, there is no way its not throttled hard. You will probably get the performance of a rtx 2060 regular, with that low TDP. But, but people will still buy it, cuz they think ohhh it's 3080, it most be sick. Most manufactures does it today, and it's kinda sad.

Granted, the sweet spot on something like is is probably the 3070 for price to performance ratio, but for what I think is one of the best built thin and lights on the market that isn’t a Mac or an ultra book I’m excited. I own the 2020 razer blade 15 and it’s so convenient that I regularly will work on it over my desktop just to be in a different place other than my office and all it cost me is 10 extra minutes of render time. Really not that bad. So, I’m excited and think we’ll see some great performance. Plus Dave has already put out a new video that basically talks about how great it is.
