Steam OS is alright,but for most compatibility the windows version will always rule. You cant even run your old programs on the on steam os version. Just flash windows on it and your good.

I mean having a SW solution when we reach physical limit is a valid concern of course. This SW solution however should revolve around new more ingenious algorhythms that make better looking graphics run more efficiently. Not a hallucinating AI that tries to hide how you graphics card can't run an unoptimised game because someone forced the devs to use way too demanding lighting tech that wasn't ready for public.

While I get many of the points made in this video, there are other use cases for a machine like this where the higher end display has several uses, as well as the extra I/O this has over the Legion 7. I do a of music and video production work. So the screen makes working with HDR footage better to analize colors with for rough draft edits until I can get the footage to my desktop screen thats calobrated. The dual thunderbolt 4 ports as well as the USB 3.2 ports where a big selling point for me, as they all allow the fastest transfer speeds for my external M.2 enclousures. This will allow me to transfer high rez audio and video projects to my external SSDs, as I do a lot of project ping ponging between my laptop and desktop. The SD card reader is also a nice touch for my high end video cameras that take SD cards for thier recording media where the video files are often 50 to 120 MB/s in file size. Not everything is about gaming all the time.

Honestly, stagnating in graphical power would be a blessing for the industry. It would force real innovation in gameplay, content and other areas. If you see e.g. a combo of 13th gen + some nice dedicated GPU at e.g. 800 bucks and then you have newest stuf for 1200 bucks and it's nearly the same chassis? Or look at AMD 8840HS and those 370... if the price difference is 1/3 then I think it's worth thinking about not a really old gen but a bit older than the newest one.
