Would it be an insult to call you a more personable David Blaine? Also the difference between y'all is that I can actually LEARN the mechanics of the illusion from you.

Lloyd, you are absolutely ridiculous. What kind of deranged person puts out stunningly visual effects of this calibre for FREE? Nobody! Nobody does that! This is the sort of trick magicians would sell for $50, with an accompanying instructional DVD filled with three minutes worth of instruction massaged into two long, tedious hours of filler, and you're just giving it away for nothing! I love you man, you're the greatest magic innovator in the game right now. Nobody comes close to matching your level of inventiveness, and as for your generosity, it's genuinely mind boggling. Keep being awesome mate.

I haven’t seen any of your content lately, but I’m glad I came across this. I remember about 5 years ago. A friend of mine in Chicagoland said you were helping him for AGT. There was a group of us going up to Milwaukee that year to audition. Magic Creators like you really inspired the next generation of magicians. I used to watch trailers when I didn’t have money to buy a gimmick and reverse engineer it until I could by it.

Nice. I like that the gimmick is so simple. It reminds me of a classic effect by Larry Jennings, where an incredibly simple "gimmick" creates a crazy visual illusion.

I came across this channel and am really loving it. I have a lot of spare time on my hands, and have always been interested in magic tricks, but never got around to practicing. I've been thinking of following some of these as something to do. I just never remember to get stuff for it when I go out.

While I could basically guess the method based on the performance, I have to admit it looks really good, and I don't think there could possibly be a better way to pull that off. It's so simple, and I think Alan Perlis would call you a genius.

Magic has never really been my thing, but I'm an inventor that dabbles in filmmaking and your channel has become eternally fascinating to me, because doing the illusion and showing the behind-the-scenes combines both of those things for me. Anyways, after watching a few of your videos I've subscribed and look forward to seeing more.

Cool trick, Lloyd! I look forward to trying this out! One question, though. If you weaken both sides of the double-sided tape, will it make it easier to remove the gimmick and the tape without fear of the tape staying behind, or will it weaken the efficacy of the entire trick because the gimmick won't stay in place during the performance?

New subscriber here. I used to do a lot of close up slight of hand card tricks in my 20s. As I got older and had kids my crowd shrunk and ran out of people to wow. I'm 50 now and I'm glad I found your channel. Wanna see me put a cigarette through a half dollar? Yeah I'm that old lol.

Hi Lloyd, thank you for teaching magic. You are thorough, throwing in lighting, angles etc. I belonged to SAM back in 70’s a career in the US Navy and Marine Corps where I could only some card magic and occasional coins. I have a 16 granddaughter that I’m teaching. I appreciate your tutorials as there are many new illusions and my favorite is making them for her. ✌️brother Charlie from Arizona 😊✌️🌵

So, first off, this is awesome and I was excited because I already had the tools in my car to make the gimmick. I just tried it on my coworker and wanted to share something I instinctively did at the end. I spun the card around to hand it to him, and palmed the cut piece in the same hand holding it out as I handed it off. It's a tiny thing, but I think it was worth it as he has learned to watch my other hand as I close out a trick.

Amazing effect! One slight enhancement: When you make the gaff don't use a whole half of a card. Instead, only cut along the blue part of the card. Now when you tape it to the regular card you won't have to worry about hiding the line in the white border of the card. Alternatively, use a borderless card like a "Bee" brand.
