Will they ever extend the turntable so they could spin 1309 around? Or maybe make a wye at the end of the line if it's too heavy?

1309 can fit on the turntable however it can't go on it because the grade to frostburg is a little steep and plus the polar express train only goes to helmstetters curve and back.

Why are the diesels being used

I think it’s because 1309 can’t fit on the turntable so they need to have locomotives at the end to go backwards

@@RascalTrainz 1309 can fit onto the turntable, it’s 98ft long and the turntable is 100ft. The Polar Express trains just don’t go all the way to Frostburg so more people get the opportunity to ride.

Theres something going on with the curve that leads up to the turntable that keeping 1309 from using it. That's what I was told.
