Mobius influenced so many people from gen-x. Such a talent. Robot Carnival is a personal favorite of mine. I watched it on TV at sometime around 2:00 AM when I was in my teens. Never forgot the short called Cloud. ❤🎉

Very glad I got the limited-edition years ago. The paper is very nice quality, similar to the great metabarons slipcase. I like the softer colour presentation on the matte paper, gloss always has higher contrast with deeper blacks, but the presentation looks a little more 'drawn' on matte I think. Ink adheres to the papers differently, and actually matte or uncoated paper absorbs the ink more, and that's what makes the difference. On gloss/coated paper, the ink sits on the top of the paper a bit more, so is more punchy and is brighter.

I’m really looking forward to this new printing! I am however very perplexed about the panel they chose for the two prints. Not that it’s bad, it’s just that there are so many more eye catching pages in the book!

The limited edition has UNCOATED paper which is why the colours are more muted and the lines less sharp - Because the ink sinks INTO the paper. The new edition has COATED paper where the ink sits ON the surface so colours are brighter and linework is sharper. The unocated paper is thicker because if it were as thin as the coated you would get show-through. There's rarely a good reason to use uncoated paper for colour content. Same applies to The Metabarons LE - Badly compromised because they also went for uncoated paper there too. Mark my words, if they reprint that it too will be on coated paper just like this new Incal edition. If I were a cynical man I might speculate they did this on purpose to get hardcore fans to buy both.

That's a good looking version of a should read graphic novel. If i didn't already own this story in a different version it would be at the top of my list and when you add the Metabarons and technopriests storylines to this universe of re-releases, well, congratz new readers and collectors. I will say though, i had to read it more than once to appreciate the full story and implications.

Is "The Metabaron" series ever finishing? The newer one, I mean...I thought Esad Ribic was supposed to do the next installment, it was announced around Secret Wars but I can't find any updates about it. I have the previous deluxe and the smaller HC so I'm going to pass on this, but I highly recommend this book and props to Omar for giving it more light.

I’m always glad to see nice collected editions come out because there will always be people who are ecstatic it exists. But I’m one of those people you mentioned who couldn’t stand this. I didn’t like any of the characters, I didn’t like the dialogue, and the plot was just weird and I felt like there was no payoff because I didn’t like literally anybody. 😅

You're not. I liked it, but I've read quite a few comics stories which I prefer. But it's been a long time since I read it so probably need to go at it again. I think some of the quotes and legend etc might be based on context, and when it was released maybe. The art is unbelievably good, and I would say there is a legitimate shout for saying it's the best. I was tempted to get it in the black and white edition too...

It was written in different era with different standards, from today's perspective it can seem rather confusing story telling but when i imagine era 35 years ago it had to feel like really fresh wind to read comic like this. Metabaron topped it in every aspect for me.

Man i am suoer on the fence on upgrading i loved the incal but have not finished it as the world bubbles and text are so small on the reg HC i am was always wanting to upgrade but that price and so many omnis coming out make it hard for me to decide……🫤
