the beauty of Ghent is that it is a living city, you will find buildings from the high medieval age, the late medieval age and most of all the early modern age, residential buildings often have their buildyear displayed on them, mostly those from the 1700s

I've been to Ghent this weekend. The city is beautiful. It's in my top three. I've seen Lam Gods by Van Eijck. Increddible beauty.

Also the home of Larian Studios (Baldur's Gate 3), ImageLight (FL Studio) and the birthplace of Musescore! Not only the architecture, but there's some kind of creative vibe in the air the you can really feel.

Please, don't come (for a day). The tourist-troups and busses are really disrupting the atmosphere. Just stay away, or if you must, stay for a while. Use the local transport, bike or your feet. Don't group toguether but spread out and try to imagine living here. What would you do?

I would love it if tourists stayed out of belgium, they're annoying enough as it is. Part of my family own a house in the Ardennes, and I hate to see a bunch of tourists in the village throwing parties and gathering up in large groups, it completely ruins the tranquility of the area
