His strength growing as he gets angrier, the fact that he grows way larger the further into the movie he gets, and just in general, I like the fact that he seemed aware of what he was doing most of the time. However, this film absolutely nailed the fear factor of the Hulk, especially his roar. Weirdly enough, while the CGI does look a bit dated, I actually think it works in the movie's favor. His uncanny aesthetic makes him scarier.

Again in this scene, when he sees the soldiers treating Betty harshly, he becomes even more angry and stronger. As soon as he saw her like this, Hulk ran away. 5 years later When he returns, Hulk remembers that he accidentally injured Betty, so he is careful around her and sensitive even when touching her. He is afraid of hurting her.

That's cause movies back then, despite having inferior technology, took their time with and didn't rush. Which is why a lot of the late 2000s CGI holds good even today(SM2, ASM 1 and 2, Transformers, etc). I do much prefer the darker, more muscley, primal force and unbridled rage of this hulk. The way he always looks constantly enraged but shows it subtlety through just glaring as well as roaring, how he actually shows intelligence in battle and you can tell how his anger gives him more strength. I will forever say this version of hulk was how a lot of us imagined him, giant, intimidating and far more aggressive but then i play the 2003 movie and im like.....damn these are both fucking awesome. The 2003 movie was beautifully showing us all of the hulks abilities while he fought his battles like the guy could literally go twice his original size just from getting more pissed off and at that point he looks like a literal green giant (not the kind that sells vegetables). The more I watch this movie, the more I actually enjoy it, especially after watching some of the more recent installments of the MCU. What we're missing a lot now is how grounded and subtle the movies are in terms of establishing a universe, and it makes it even crazier that Phase 1 films are still being connected back to today, as if each film was more substantial than an entire phase of MCU films and shows. I am glad that Marvel Studios is finally being a little more open with this movie, especially with the number of connections and recurring characters. I hope that someday, more people will start looking back at this movie and appreciate it for being at least a decent movie.
