Seeing just a small bit of Michael Klep's programming style and his workstation makes me wanna be a better programmer. Thay guy's a legend. He's already got a ton of excellent VSTis under his belt (The Bassline and QuadraSID to name just a couple). I am 110% with him in his answer to the 'final final' question: we need to strive for quality, not quantity - the sad reality is that the IT industry has been polluted with 'agile methodologies' which preach the exact opposite and for mundane programmers (myself included) it's becoming an ever-increasing stream of demands to be delivered in ever-decreasing time-frames (namely, 'sprints') and with less and less regards to quality. Bottomline, being a programmer these days is a frustrating exercise, a real nightmare making a living like this. Michael is a rare find, he can work alone and dictate his own pace, prioritize his workload as he sees fit and strive to deliver based on his own 'definition of done', not someone else's. That is why as a programmer, I envy Michael. I wish one day I can get out of the 'agile' rat race and make my life work like that for me.

Whatever with these comments against the look of the GUI. Just bought it. Pretty impressed... have learned a bit about sound design from the works of Manuel over the years. Nexus is moving in an awesome direction, and Manuel's plugins are some of the best. Like others have said... skins will eventually come, but this is an awesome upgrade from what Nexus2 was.

I should add, I'm working on a Macbook Pro Retina display and the last nexus versions (N1 and N2) looked terrible. For those using Retina display this is the first version that looks HD, and after navigating through N3 for the past couple hours, I'm loving the GUI. It's straight forward, and really shows you what the sounds are doing. Arpeggiator is awesome. Everyone has their opinions, but regardless, I would say people that have nexus 2 should upgrade. And big thanks to Michael Hartmann as well which I didn't say in my last post. Without people like him and Steve Duda, we wouldn't have these advances in music. Awesome stuff guys, and awesome vids Doctor Mix! Been following your videos since I saw your Daft Punk remakes.

This is what a VST needs, easy navigating. I bought Nexus 2 and i barely used it because of the user interface. The presets were inspiring so I kept going back to it. but I will get uninspired because of the user interface. This is the best user interface in the market. Every synth company should change their browser interface and just call it the N3 browser 🤪🤪🤪

Anfang der 2000er hab ich die Soundbank demos raus und runter gehört und wusste somit, dass ich kicht der einzige Nerd auf dieser Welt bin. :P Einfach Wahnsinn, was Manuel damals schon aus teilweise veralteten Snyths wie zb Virus a rausgeholt haben. Von dem Sample CDs ganz zu schweigen, die eine ganze Branche geprägt haben. Macht bitte einfach weiter. Wünsche euch nur das beste! :)

Lol unless I own a ship with black sails maybe, sadly I buy all my hardware and plugins hence to wait and actually see if it’s good. I don’t own or have a copy of nexus 2 because their are other plugins better for pretty much the same price. Besides my akai mpc x and my collection of Roland vintage stuff and ni mk 3 with komplete 12 pretty much does what this plug in does. Just want to see after a few months to see if it’s worth buying this plug in cause some plugins like serum are awesome sand are pretty easy to use.

the application in its current state is massive. Like the amount of stuff it does, if you were to set out with your own software developer and sound designer duo, it would take you about 15-20 years to get to this point with the software.

People from warez community are nice people who produce cracks for fun and because it is a challenge. Yeah right, do you really believe in that? They steal information from your PC and sell that information for money. Ask yourself will you spend thousands of hours working for free even if you love your job? No you would not, you need to eat, bring food to the table and buy nice things, and doing it for free won't provide that. Don't be fooled, warez community is not nice, they make money not just from stealing information from your PC but using your PC in many ways for their own purposes. What do you expect, that they will tell you "hey we have access to everything on your PC when you use our software". There is a reason why your antivirus detect cracks and hacks as a malware! Don't forget that. And no I'm not here to preach against warez, I'm here to tell you that you are giving access to everything you ever done on your PC to a total stranger from who knows where. Something to think about.

Ok. First thing: I love you Doctor Mix, cause you're the KZbinr plugin community needs. I knew Manuel Schleiss and guys from reFX existed, they're really a bit of a legends in terms of plugin history. I love to see you show people like this in your videos. Second thing: That bunch of Star Wars collectibles made me relate to both of the guys. That's so awesome! :) But still ... I don't like Nexus. I don't think it's bad when people do like it and I'm happy for anyone who will be happy with N3 ... but I just don't like the idea of buying sounds. Eventhough they are superb. I like to learn how to make them. Some of the Nexus 2 patches (especially pianos and leads) got so over-used even non-producers started to identify them. That happens less if you attempt to create your own sounds. Just a personal prerence. But amazing video either way, thank you! :)

I absolutely love the Nexus (2), it is my go-to synth when I start with a song and it often ends up in the final mix. But I stopped buying expansions quite a while ago because the price increased massively and the creativity dropped to almost zero. ReFX is just recycling the same samples again and again and just slapping together different combinations of the same sounds. And them slapping well known artist names to expansions that don't even include a single sound these artists actually use? Shame on you! Lets face it... they lost it.

The problem with Nexus has and always will be the price. It's not worth what they charge. As long as it's too expensive I will never purchase it. Other VSTs offer the same kind of sounds for alot less.

Yeah, 4000€ for full version is ridiculously expensive. One expansion is 50€, that is too expensive. Other software after some time drop the price, here is always the same price for everything they make, including samples that are pure copy of previously realised samples.

Installing Nexus 3 will remove the use of Nexus 2 in all your projects. Update !! After uninstalling and reinstalling Nexus It replaced all my Nexus 2 Plugins with the new one. Works like a charm now. Mental breakdown avoided.
