Yeah it's borderline disgusting how long they wait for some people. Sid was a multi-time WWF and WCW champion, main evented 2 WrestleManias, and was one of the most notable figures in 90s North American wrestling. Why did they wait forever to put him in?

Sid has always been one of my favorite big men in professional wrestling. His physique was insane. My favorite run was his 1996 return. He was part of one of my favorite main event scene that year into the spring of 1997 with Bret Hart, Shawn Micheals, The Undertaker, Stone Cold, and occasionally Vader. Loved his powerbomb. Just the way he executed his powerbomb looked like it hurt like hell. I am a fan of Sid’s match against Goldberg at Halloween Havoc 1999. It was a brutal bloodbath from Goldberg busting Sid open earlier in the show and the wounded was reopen during their match. Awesome stuff. I can only imagine if Sid didn’t suffer that career ending injury how dope it would had been to see him included in the WCW Invasion storyline. Really going to miss Sid. Wish WWE had inducted him into the Hall of fame before his tragic passing. R.I.P Sid Eudy 🙏 🕊️

7:57 Ryan of Wrestling Bios fame has an interesting theory of why WWE never went for the Hogan vs. Flair main event at WrestleMania VIII. Hogan had made a fool of himself at the Arsenio Hall Show when he denied he'd ever used steroids in the midst of the steroid scandal. Giving the World championship to Hogan would've been terrible timing on the WWF and Vince McMahon's behalf.
@ryankeefe2102
@ryankeefe2102 7 күн бұрын
There's several factors The Hogan v Flair series didn't really draw big money on the house shows Logistically also doing Flair v Hogan at that point would be problematic Hogan was leaving for a year as the heat came down because of steroids and at that point McMahon didn't want heels to walk out of Mania as champion Now you COULD'VE done a finish where Perfect and Flair jump Hogan causing a DQ then Warrior comes out and clears house but then the "dream match" would be a let down

For me, i thought Sid was one of the better big guys and was the whole package for what you wanted a monster wrestler to look like in the ring. He was strong, intimidating and worked very well as both a heel & as a face. My favourite memory was Sycho Sid vs Shawn Michaels from Survivor Series 96 which i recently watched again after a long time and i still remember the massive pop he got when made his way to the ring, he was a monster heel but was getting loud cheers in MSG and was giving fist bumps to the fans whereas HBK, he came out and got completely booed out of the building even though he was the babyface world champion. I'll never forget the fans going nuts when he hit HBK with the TV camera, delivered the powerbomb and pinned him to become world champion. It was an unbelievable moment. RIP big man, you truly were the ruler of the world

Just about to say the same thing. Not everyone (and I guess most people) don't do what they wanted to do career wise at 5 years old as adults. I remember reading somewhere that at least 50 percent of college graduates do jobs that have nothing to do with their major. Sometimes life throws a curveball at you and you just go with it. Even Ric Flair was studying medicine at university before he decided to become a wrestler. And Hogan was a musician and was trying to get into baseball before he got into the wrestling business. But I suppose they are bad examples because Flair was a wrestler in high school and Hogan was a fan of pro wrestling growing up.

The reason why Sid's run and himself where very popular in 96 was because that's when the attitude era was starting and the audience wanted more destruction and anti-heros. And Sid represented attitude, destruction and an anti-hero.

I agree to a certain extent that Pro Wrestling, like any endeavor that involves money, you ultimately are working a j-o-b. Still, pro wrestling is also a career, and like most careers, success is largely due at least partially in ones love for the endeavor-while I'm sure there are pilots, firefighters, teachers and musicians who do it strictly for money, most dream of doing it since their youths. So many guys and girls dream of doing this since their childhoods, break bones and loose sleep and family time to make it, to see a guy who didn't really have deep affection for the business but still get main events and all that goes with it can't help but rub some folks wrong, fair or not.

Rest in peace Sid. he was also one of my favorites growing up and I think anyone my age that grew up as a little kid in the 80s and a teenager in the 90s will tell you the same thing. Every one of us always marked out for him. I really do hope with Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn out of the picture that this prejudice against southern wrestlers will end and will start seeing people like him, The Midnight Express, Luger , etc. Will be inducted into the HOF. and yes I know others have been in but when you’ve got people like that not in the Hall of Fame and then I’m watching wrestlers that started wrestling after the year 2000 get in before them. It just makes me sick.

The more stories I hear about wrestlers trying to intentionally try to kill each other from back then for the dumbest of reasons, the happier I am that the culture of wrestling has changed for the better. If I was a wrestler, I wouldn't want to be scared to go to work because one of my coworkers were having a bad day that day. Just saying....

He should have been the Hulk Hogan figure ! He was bigger , stronger and looked and acted like a wrestler ! WWF HOF , WTF ? Just like the Rock & Roll HOF , selective ! Like the band " Bad Finger " , Sid was not marketed properly ! Squeegee incident ? You can't write this stuff ! Now my mind ( warped ) is running from feather dusters to dildoes ? Last time I saw this was when two of my friends got into a " Kitchen Fight " ! It got so bad , one picked up a candle and broke it in half ( holding it like a knife ) and the other went into the garbage ( we did not have recycling then but most likely we still would have thrown it in the garbage ? ) and tore a wax paper milk carton ( with a " Missing Persons " picture of the Dallas Cowboys Defense on it ) in half , thrusting the tore edge into my friends exposed neck , sending , day old warm milk splattering the walls and all of us , like a scene scene from Charley Manson's " Helter Skelter " or that failed 1923 " Association for the Blind " Ax throwing competition ( 6 dead 11 wounded ) ! I pissed my pants and two others had %$#@ing heart attacks ! YOU CAN'T WRITE THIS SHIT ! Some may take his place , but no one will ever replace , what's his name ? ! RIP SID !

Hey, I don't care that Goldberg wanted to make money. I care that for some reason he keeps targeting the heads of legends I grew up on. Maybe all that slamming his head into lockers made him think others enjoy it. They do not.

Lord Humongous sounds like a name that Cornette would come up with. I can also absolutely see Dusty convincing Sid to cut a promo on Robocop, I couldn't have done it without laughing. The Half the Brain promo is still one of my favorite promos of all time. You can see the moment Sid knew he botched it, it was fucking wonderful. Wrestling is so fucking stupid and I love it.
