This is the thumb of rule for Himalayan Trips in South Asia Gabe : *Summers : Mid april to May : Hazy weather due to forest fires. A lot of Snow above 3600-4000m. Monsoon : Good air quality , cloudy weather with dangerous landslide prone roads. Post Monsoon Autumn season : Clear blue skies ,good air quality , amazing crystal clear views of peaks that are 100 odd km away. Winters : Good Air quality ,blue skies , crystal clear views but snow at lower altitudes and the roads might be blocked as well. Last time around you came to the Indian Himalayas in May as well. Hopefully you will come to India in Autumn sometime, that and early march would be the best time to visit.

hi Gabriel, Even in the foothills the weather is still hot at 90 degrees the pictures you showed were quite a contrast from the foothills to the snow-covered Himalayas, and those mountains look massive. You don't know if that's humans encroaching on the land by burning it or a natural disaster. It's interesting to find such towns up in the mountains there seems to be such an expansion of humans leaving crowed cities to go into the much cooler cities in the mountains.

Also ... *** I am curious to know (if the following are not too personal): What time of day do you awaken, usually, and what time of night do you usually retire? You are admirably thin. I'm guessing you can live on not much sleep? *** You do eat very well, I must say! I love seeing pics of what folks eat. Not sure just why I do, but I do.

I was able to see 200+ km wide range of Himalayas from Almora in Dec. From Ranikhet also one can view from Chaukhamba peak in Garhwal to Panchachuli in Eastern Kumaon.

Mahindra cars and jeeps are rugged, torquey, abuse friendly and fuel efficient. That’s why very popular in Himalayan towns and villages.

The summer haze is the problem, you'd have to get very close , maybe on route to the pindari glacier before you could see the mountains.

At 15.24 it looks like a picture of Ram Dass's Guru ( Neem Karoli??) attached above the windshield of the Bus. I'm sure the driver needs all the help he can get. Great music with the video. You are one tough man dealing with crowds, noise and chaos.

Haze is due to the smoke, the dust and the pollution. You could have plan your trip for the Himalayas after the monsoon season is over when dust and pollution settled down, you get more cleaner, greener and scenic view of the mountains between Sep and Nov.

Always demand the front seat of the jeep or don’t go Also connect with Benjamin jenks. He’s definitely your style of solo travel blogger in goa these days. He might be from Michigan so he probably gets along with Northern California well Visit char dham you could be the first American to do these 4 holy sites
