The Indian Health Service Supports American Indians and Alaska Natives

We’re traveling to Browning, Montana to visit the Blackfeet Community Hospital on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation. Join us as we speak with members from the Indian Health Service (IHS) and discover how they're giving back to American Indians and Alaska Natives.
The Indian Health Service, an agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is responsible for providing federal health services to American Indians and Alaska Natives. For years, they've supported the physical, mental, social, and spiritual health of American Indians and Alaska Natives, assuring that public health services are available and accessible to them.
First, we're meeting with Francine Barnett and Dorothy Dupree to discuss IHS' mission to recruit quality health professionals, including veterans. Then, Jade Whitesell, a military veteran who transitioned into the role of physician's assistant at IHS, talks about her life growing up on an Indian reservation, her military service, and her future goals for IHS.
