Great video. I like how you showed the menus close-up (a lot of travel channels here on KZbin don't do that)

Hello. Glad you liked the video. The close up menus will remind me of the food on the trip which was very nice. I didn't take many pix of the actual food as I was too busy enjoying it!

This just popped up,in my KZbin feed. Great video! I’ll be taking both the Indian Pacific and the Ghan next March and April. Chose Gold Twin as a solo for the IP, and Gold Single for the Ghan to keep costs down a bit.

Ooooh, lucky you to be doing both. I loved the IP and would love to do the Ghan but as you say - it's pricey! I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time enjoying the scenery, excursions and the food. And of course the people you meet.

How much does this cost?
@HavePension-WillTravel
@HavePension-WillTravel Жыл бұрын
Well, it is expensive. Best to check out the Journey Beyond website (www.journeybeyondrail.com.au/packages/sydney-to-perth-2023/) Prices range from $2,345 in Gold single to $6,900 in Platinum depending on the month. Yhat's Sydney to Perth in 2023. Perth to Sydney is a little bit cheaper (but not a lot). In 2024 it's going to cost a bit more.

would have been nice for a commentary made the trip somewhat boring

Hi Woolliehead. I very rarely have a commentary on my videos because I don't like the sound of my voice. I like looking out of the window and watching the world pass by - fairly slowly on a long distance train. The subtitles tell you what's going on but I realise that looking at words on the bottom of the screen means you could miss what's happening, and a commentary would mean you could just concentrate on the video. Anyway I can assure you that the trip wasn't boring for the people on the train and I'd love to do it again. Thank you for taking the time to comment. Maybe I'll practice talking on-camera for future videos. 😉

Excellent footage Wendy, thank you. I'm going to do the IP in early January by myself. Husband will be working. I'm so looking forward to it, one of my bucket list journeys, and then the Ghan Expedition later next year.

Hi Dale. Glad you enjoyed the video. I'm sure you'll have a great time on the IP and I'm really envious of your forthcoming trip on the Ghan. I'd love to do that with the additional trip to Uluru.

Ivanhoe? Did it actually stop at little old Ivanhoe NSW (0.45) listed on train indicator board at Central? Would have been the wee hours of the morning! Also Port Augusta SA? Never used to stop at either place. First stop used to be Broken Hill NSW, apart from a pause at Parkes NSW for a driver change. Three days in 13 minutes, well done, its a great train, I have done it twice.

Hi Sarah. Yes Jamie was pretty good especially for our Rawlinna meal. And he also organised trivia quizzes for the passengers. A lot of fun.

It was an interesting journey. I loved being on the train and enjoyed the off-train experiences. Pity about missing out on Broken Hill but that couldn't be helped.

the train stops at Parks & Ivanho?
@HavePension-WillTravel
@HavePension-WillTravel Жыл бұрын
Um no. If it stopped there it wasn't to let anyone on or off. It might have been a 'technical stop' but I don't remember it stopping at either of those places at all.
