I haven’t as yet done the Indian pacific, I’ve done Brisbane to Cairns. Didn’t not enjoy it at all. Was so excited to book it and couldn’t wait to get off, unfortunately booked it back as well. I’ve done Amtrak many times and have always loved every moment, each time. I did book the larger room with bathroom. Would love to book this, a bit worried it might be like Brisbane to Cairns!

Thanks for this video. I just watched it because my parents have boarded the train in Perth today and I wanted to check out what’s in store for them. They’ve also booked the Gold twin cabin. It’s all part of my dad’s 70th birthday experience… so I hope he’ll be ok climbing up those stairs to bed! 😬😂 Was there a lot of walking involved during the excursions? I hear it’s over 40 degrees at the moment, so I hope there’s shaded spots if guests need a bit of a rest. Thanks so much for your informative and entertaining video, it’s helped my anxiety somewhat (I’m an over thinker!) and set my mind more at ease. It looks like a semi-glamorous adventure, with tasty food… which hopefully makes up for lack of sleep, lol! New to your channel, so I’ve just subscribed. Happy travels! 😊

Now and again, I look for videos on the Indian Pacific as it’s a bucket list item to cross the country on land, and I'd rather do it on a train with a drink than drive myself. But then I see the price and hard oof out. Especially seeing the train looks so basic vs a cruise ship, which has pools. Great video, though. Ludvig seems to encapsulate a lot of how I imagine I’d feel. So I guess it’s refreshing to hear the endorsement at the end. Unrelated, he has a good voiceover voice.

Missing is the sky top viewing dome! Best part is to be able to get out and meet the residents. Am a flora and fauna person and would want more reference materials to delve through aboard the train. Will look for the Perth adventures available as I watch gold mining videos from Australia as well as the Cooper-Peedy Opal mining videos. Is there bottled water available and how does it taste? Would be nice for the company to make videos available about places of interest for riders to watch as well as exercise equipment , bands, benches, etc. What say you?😊. Was it worth the price? Disregard the food and drink.

Sorry this trip is over rated. I did it recently and found the views uninspiring. The food service was excellent and the lounge was okay. The age of the carriages and the orientation of the double bunk beds of gold class was uncomfortable. My preference is to sleep with my head towards the engine and to allow the rocking motion to rock me to sleep. The quality of the trackwork in some states was poor. But the scenery of semi-desert wheat fields , the Victorian desert and the Nullarbor plain monotonous (spelling?). I Enjoy through the Blue Mountains. When you compare it with your trip from San Francisco to Chicago, it just doesn’t have that dramatic change in landscape.

You certainly aren't comparing it to Amtrak in the states because everyone knows Amtrak is complete shit, literally anything in a civilized country is better than transportation in the states 😂 but I would probably put them on the same level. 💩

Some people leave towns and homes with the mindset of gratitude to see something they have never seen or experienced before with each other. They are also in love with each other so they were already just happy being near each other. I'm sorry you didn't have fun, but maybe it was what you had told yourself that day." It's not the destination it's the journey there." Hope you get a second chance to travel again soon.

I much prefer honest reviews to fake enthusiasm. This is an extremely high priced tourist experience. Learning what is good and not so good with it, is useful. Thank you.
