I actually visited North Korea 2 years ago as “tourist”. I thought it would be an interesting, if not morbid, experience to see how NK treats visiting foreigners. I had a rough idea going in what it would be like, but man, the whole tripped ended up creeping me the fuck up. So first off, it’s very clear that you’re seeing exactly what they want you to see. Happy, “rich” North Koreans. Pyongyang is insanely eerie though; the whole city is empty! There’s huge building and wide streets, but it’s empty! It feels like a video game that’s half-finished. And you’re being watched 24/7. We were told not to film during a certain portion of the tour, and some dumbass decided to anyways. I’m not going to exaggerate and say that guns were drawn or anything like that, but as soon as the guide caught wind of his camera, her tone changed immediately and demanded his camera; she looked read to kill, and the scary part was when 2 North Korean soldiers (I’m assuming) popped up from seemingly out of nowhere to sort of help “entice” him to comply.

I don’t know if Royal Hawk really said the N-word or not obviously because I was not there, if he did he was foul but to be quite honest, Scorpio is just as much to blame. You’re gonna call a man like Ric Flair, who honestly isn’t the greatest person in wrestling but it has lots of friends in that business including the late road warriors, and you’re gonna call him a pussy right in front of one of them and not expect retaliation? Also, if you really felt that way about Ric Flair, why didn’t you confront him rather than calling him names and talking junk about him on the bus? For me, that’s a coward move. @@TheSolomonster bottom line it was a WCW co-branded event, therefore it’s beyond fair to make the argument that Sting and Macho Man along with the others I mentioned wanting nothing to do with this outing. Just because they weren’t brought up, doesn’t mean they weren’t considered, since they were obviously on WCW’s payroll. Now I respect and appreciate the fact that you have a rather prolific and esteemed online presence within the Internet Wrestling Community, that would be unfair to discount. However, in many respects you are still just as uninitiated as the rest of us. Considering New Japan worked previous shows with WCW before and after this, and yet known talent like the aforementioned didn’t go, I am certain they likely didn’t want to deal with the obvious headaches that the talent that went did end up having. I will acquiesce that when you get to be a star the stature of Hogan, you’ll get the reputation of being difficult. However, in this case, I think there’s merit to the possibility that it was more than just creative outcomes that gave him misgivings. And while it may not have been discussed, I can’t see how Sting and Macho Man wouldn’t have been considered to go, especially someone as long tenured with WCW as Sting. I’m speculating but something tells me they had similar sentiments as many other Westerners that just didn’t want to take the chance traveling to a place that had (and still has) the reputation that North Korea does.
