August 30th can’t come fast enough! Thank you mama Rowling for all of your creations! I never thought I would care about a book series as much as I did for Harry Potter, and yet here we are. You are amazing! Thank you ♥️♥️♥️

Do I have to read any other book to read the ink black heart? Because She just said in that video “the reason I love writing these two characters….” And that sounds like she has already written a book about that, like it’s a second book like Chamber of secrets, you know? Sorry, I have only read Harry Potter by Jk Rowling (kind of a crime)

@@b12095 So, this is actually book number SIX. There are five others before this one. “The Cuckoo’s Calling” (book one) came out 2013, “The Silkworm” (book two) came out 2014, “Career of Evil” (book three) came out 2015, “Lethal White” (book four) came out 2018, and “Troubled Blood” (book five) came out 2020. Every book deals with a separate and distinctive mysterious/detective case, so in order to understand “The Ink Black Heart” you don’t need to read the previous five books. However, the story is partly about the partner detectives Cormoran and Robin, and their story starts in book one and continues through the rest of them, so if you want to understand their relationship and the dynamic between those two, you most definitely need to read the first five books before picking this one up. I hope that this answer helps! ☺️

The joy of demonising and murdering trans people? I bet you love Alice Schwarzer too. Alice Schwarzer is garbage, she lied about having a baby and destroyed the abortion rights movement's potential in Germany. We'd have better rights if Schwarzer hadn't created more doubt about women. She supports Putin and targets Transmen for Volksverhetzung in her books. JK and Alice are a great example of women who beg at the tables of patriarchy and share ideologies with fascists. Your ancestors would be proud Karin. Oh that name, I can't believe that is your actual name, hahahah

Rowling has been getting more explicit about the "underground stream" in her latest novels ,with references to Dionysian features in churches and such; i am interested to see if she is building towards some kind of explicit thesis on this theme of the "Old Religion" which runs quietly (but powerfully) through her work hahaha!

I do not want her to ‘explore’ trans issues in her books as she has made her views on trans issues very clear and they are harmful and exclusionary views. We do not need more literature spreading trans exclusionary views- it is hard enough to be part of a marginalised community without more fiction being created that reinforces negative stereotypes and fuels prejudice.

I keep hearing this notion that it's a self insert but having just finished the book I don't see it, who's is she meant to be? The unstable dead leadwell woman? Everything seems to be the fault of the far right online in the books eyes too but if you take a look at Twitter you'd be under the impression that being a fan on the series makes you a fascist and a glance at any of her critics will yield a host of "fuck trump, Borris - insert right wing politician of choice" so while she takes a minor pot shot at cancel culture I'd say she's vilifying the opposition to her opposition more than taking aim at her critics if that makes sense because as much as the left hates her trans view she's still very much on their side

It’s so sad that her name comes with that controversial baggage now. What was once a universally beloved form of escapism in her work has become tainted. I don’t blame people for being upset with her, but Harry Potter means far too much to me to exclude from my life.

fictional stories mean more to you than living breathing people. I'll remember that if you ever need help. Sorry, I can't save your from those dark waters, gotta read this book I love by the author who pushed you in. Cue Peter Gabriel. Read LaGuine's Earthsea, way better books about magic and the author wasn't a bigot, one of the only women to consistently win science fiction and fantasy awards for literature, a glass-ceilling-breaker in literature. You read Rowling, you support her bigotry.
