I got to tour the White House when I was in 8th grade in the early 80s. While standing in line waiting for our turn to take the tour, one of the grounds keepers asked us if we wanted to see the president. He pointed and said that he was about to take off in a helicopter towards the house. A couple of min. later, the helicopter took off, circled the line, and then President Reagan leaned out a bit and waved to us. It was really cool.

I graduated from the Corcoran College of Art & Design, which is directly across from the Ellipse and the White House. It was common for Secret Service cars to park right outside the school entrance. We'd see agents also getting coffee at the nearby famous Swing's Coffee shop. I didn't know about the SAM setup on the roof of the New Executive Building, but doesn't surprise me. Around the Ellipse were many agents dressed in civilian clothing, but they were carrying duffle bags which had machine guns or whatever inside. It was very obvious they were guarding the area. I mean who else just stands around in the grass with sunglasses on holding a duffle bag for hours on end. George W. Bush was President at the time so I saw his motorcade come and go from the west-side entrance gate countless times. I've always wanted to take a tour inside the White House. The general area itself is very nice and a nice place to take a stroll around or even jog around at night. I feel lucky to have been able to go to school so close to the home of many Presidents and their families. The area is rich with history!

I got married in October, 1975 and on our way home from Myrtle Beach, we stopped in Georgetown for a night and ran around Washington for a day. We saw the Lincoln memorial, Arlington cemetery and a few of the Smithsonian buildings. We drove past the White House and saw a small line forming so we parked and joined the group. I can’t remember which rooms we saw but we were in the WH! I think Ford was home so we didn’t see the Oval. That was an amazing day and one that could never be replicated today.

I managed some villas when I lived in the Caribbean years ago. For a few years in a row, the Clinton's stayed in one of them. (Please, no nasty comments or politics. I'm just telling a story). Despite no longer being president, the secret service was nuts! They came out several says in advance and did a serious search of the house, grounds and neighborhood. Hillary wanted to go for a walk on the beach one morning and despite it being a fairly private beach, they said no way in hell. Too dangerous. Funny thing is, we spent a bit of time with the secret service guys and they were all super chill. Khakis and golf shirts while on duty. I even got to meet Bill (Hillary had already left). Cool experience to see how it works!

There is no such thing as a semi-automatic assault rifle. An assault rifle is, by definition, capable of select fire. Select fire is the ability to choose between semi-auto and full-auto modes of fire using a selector switch, typically incorporated into the safety. Depending on the legislation, some semi-automatic rifles may be classified as assault weapons, but they are really just ranch rifles that look military. The .223 Remington round typically fired from an AR-15, is one of the smallest and least powerful of rifle rounds. Some states have prohibited it from hunting deer, because they don't believe it is powerful enough to humanely take down a deer. The 30-30 Winchester round typically used for deer hunting is about 50% more powerful than the .223 Remington and is not itself considered particularly powerful. Pretty much any hunting rifle would have had a better chance of penetrating the White House.

I was in the 174th ADA 2nd Batt in McConnelsville, Ohio. It is an Ohio Army National Guard unit. I joined after my tour in the Army was completed. At that time it was one of two locations that had the Avengers. And, I have to say they are insane. They also have a .50 on the right side under the missile battery and a remote control that you can use to drive and fire the weapons. I don't remember how far the controller would work, it was connected with a cable it wasn't wireless. If there was a fear of possible attack we could retreat to a safe place and still have full access to the vehicle. The radar is insanely sensitive. We used to do weekend training at Burr Oak Park outside of Glouster. We were down at the bottom of a hill and there was a big field in front of us thats just a big incline. We could see a rabbit moving across the field and was able to lock on to the rabbit. It had the entire missile battery locked and following every movement. It was crazy how smooth and quick the battery would move, every inch it followed. It was really insane to watch. But yes 8 stinger missiles, fun fact they used to be hawk missiles, .50 cal with I believe it was 250 rounds on top of a Humvee. It was a fun ride. But, after watching it track a rabbit every hop and being just as fast as the rabbit was pretty wild to watch. He/she never had any idea so much destruction was just a button push away.

3:00 Asault Riffle isn't even a proper term. and when it is used, it's used to describe full auto weapons the military uses, like an AK-47 or M-4. Modern full auto weapons have fire modes, the main 2 are full auto and 3 round burst, and some may have a semi-automatic mode. But calling a semi auto weapon an "assault riffle" is just incorrect and dumb.

@Duskcosmog4 ай бұрын
@MickeyMousePark You stated a different scenario that often happens. What you stated was people saying the acronym, then saying the word(s) the acronym represents. This is most likely because the acronyms are used a lot, so people's minds begin to recognize the acronym as a word itself, instead of multiple words. What I stated was just a case of incorrect terminology, like calling a gun "magazine" a "clip." The only time that terminology is correct is if it's a stripper clip on a WWI era weapon.

Feinstein tried to bring it back with even an even sillier definition, but this time even some members of her own party were too embarrassed to be associated with such slliness.

The largest Chinese drone company just removed the geofencing feature from their drones. Just in time for the inauguration. And then it was funnily moved indoors. Hmmm.🤔 Even a member of Congress’ plane had to be diverted from their intended airport because there was a drone on the runway. This could get real dangerous real fast!!!

On 9-11, GWB was not rushed into that underground bunker. He was in Florida and flown around all day on Air Force One, a moving target just in case.

I agree and would much prefer that tiny samples are put into vials with chemicals to detect something extra that was added. Need a small lab off the kitchen to do testing instead of someone having a lick.

@@TheSilmarillian I don't care for Obama but seriously educate yourself better on the history of sexuality and national leadership that should by no means surprise you that's entirely a product of you being American and very uneducated about the history of other nations. Most highly successful civilizations accepted homosexuality since civilization even existed. Also if I were in office I'm gay and would make sure there's femboy secret service in the whitehouse so get out of here with all the anti gay propaganda.

My family home has a hidden room where they kept wine/beer/cold storage items in the basement. I must remember to tell my kids about it since that is where the safe is (empty) and also the panel for all the breakers and main electrical shut off. I can just imagine the confusion of someone wanting to check the switch of an electrical breaker and not being able to find the main box.

They are super fun to play with. The fire department I work with has two of them. We have 3 backup batteries for both, so 6 in total, so if your on duty and want to "train" with it you are welcome to do it. It has all kinds of options and features but super fun to play with, once they become affordable I highly recommend one. I use a full charge on a battery every shift.

I could set up 25 drones around the white house. They would be in 5 groups of five. Each drone in a group would take turns slowly patrolling the air around the WH. When its battery got low, it could land, start charging and the next one in the group would take off. By the time it came turn for that one drone to patrol again, it would be fully recharged!!
