@@dakunssd What’s funny about that is, if you ask some archaeologists about when “civilization” began, they’ll tell you it’s not with decorated graves or cave art, but with the first skeletons with healed broken bones. It’s of course up for debate, but to a lot of archaeologists, once humans got to the point where someone in the tribe suffered a major injury, but could be tended to while they healed and the rest of the tribe would fill in for their place, *that* was the moment civilization began. So for social conservatives to think we should just let nature take over for medicine, you have to go back not decades or centuries, but tens of thousands of hundreds of thousands of year, to get to the point where humans stopped trying to heal each other.

Two parents is purely for stability - as long as kids are around, and cared for by, other adults, they won't feel like they are missing out on anything. When my dad was raising my sister and I on his own, we were convinced our neighbor across the hall in our apartment was our "mom". Even referred to her as that at school. When questioning whether you'd be a good parent, the question is whether you can secure the kid a safe, stable and emotionally connected life. Like, do you have a source of income to cover the kid's needs, are you able to talk authentically with the kid about the things that troubles it (like, also things the kid cares about and you don't), are you a person with enough self-reflection to admit error and give space to a person growing, can you be a guiding hand in the kid's life. Homosexuality doesn't factor into any of these whatsoever. So I hope you look to getting kids :)

What's so upsetting for me is that I've seen fellow Gay acquaintances of mine uncritically share some of Walsh's content in regards to Trans folks. I've had to kindly but sternly call them out on that, because it's like, why??? This video further proves that Walsh has never changed his mind on the topics of Marriage Equality, Adoption Rights for Gay couples, or just Queer Rights in general. If anything, as awful as Matt Walsh is, one thing I can give him credit for is that he's largely consistent with his beliefs. When Marriage Equality passed, he literally wrote a blog about the subject of Marriage Equality several years ago stating that he still doesn't see it as valid (despite what the law says) between two Gay couples. If he had it his way, he'd see to it that all Queer couples be placed back in the closet and be forced to undergo conversion therapy and live through unhappy and unsatisfying marriages with opposite sex, Cisgendered, folks. Like, the dude's not gonna stop with Trans folks. Trans folks are unfortunately just today's centered target as part of the the far-right's stupid culture war against them...
