Dont give tomatoes for your dog, can be toxic! Amazing video guys, love you!
@Ursula.canada
@Ursula.canada Ай бұрын
@@rymns from American kennel club: Can Dogs Eat Tomatoes? The answer is yes and no. Dogs can eat tomatoes but only in small amounts. Ripe tomatoes are considered nontoxic to dogs and can be fed in moderation as an occasional snack. While it’s considered safe for dogs to eat red, ripe tomatoes, the plants themselves are part of the nightshade family of vegetables (which also include potatoes, bell peppers, and blueberries). There are toxins in tomato plants that can harm your dog. Solanine and its cousin tomatine are toxins found mostly in the green parts of the tomato plant. That means that your dog should never ingest the leaves and stems of tomato plants and should avoid young, green tomatoes. Ingesting an unripe (green) tomato or any of the green parts of the tomato can lead to symptoms of tomatine poisoning.

Just a couple of tips: lettuce you can cut the leaves off one inch from the soil and they will grow back. Arugula is a permanent crop. If you cut it one inch from the soil it will grow back each year. It does start to dwindle around 5 years and ready for a new planting. I live in a 40 degree below climate and they come back strong. Lol Melissa you are correct. It is each side and either means one or the other. Either you do or you don't. Love the discussions.😂

I want to make a suggestion on the greenhouse you are planning on building. Have you thought about building an in ground greenhouse? I have one that is four feet in the ground and it is amazing! I can grow tomatoes in it from April-November, when my normal growing season is only mid June-mid September. My neighbor has an above ground and it still freezes later in the spring and earlier in the fall. The ground in my greenhouse never freezes. The ground outside is usually frozen soild November through March here. That is quite the difference. I have done a little winter gardening with greens. They didn't grow much during the coldest months, but they lived and I had beautiful greens extra early with a covered box inside the greenhouse. Just a suggestion to look into this type of greenhouse, you won't be disappointed. Just be aware that too deep can block light on the south side.

Melissa, you reminded me of a you tube short yesterday with your "either" or "both" to Jeremey. A young woman was looking at her husband's phone list of contacts. She said, "Who is this name "Jumper cables?" He replied, "That's you, I changed your name." Her, "Well, why did you change it to jumper cables?" Him, "Because you're always starting something." The look on her face was priceless.

Suggestions for the giant pumpkins: Back in the 1970s and 1980s we used to can the pumpkin cut in cubes of approximately 1cm covered in lemon juice and sugar water. It made a delicious desert. Mashed pumpkin makes a very good filler for jams. Especially with very sour fruits using mashed pumpkin as a filler greatly reduces the amount of sugar needed for the final product.

The reason "on either side" is used instead of "on both sides" is that "either" implies a choice between two distinct options, whereas "both" simply indicates the presence of two things. Using "either" can give the phrase a slightly more nuanced or flexible meaning, even though the ultimate meaning is the same.

Consider seed shaking that arugula on the edge of wood stands or other places where it might grow unattended, or not. Pollinators seem to really like arugula flowers; especially the early season ones. I would imagine deer would like the arugula its self. Again, the key here is unattended and if it doesn't survive or thrive, the seeds and/ or plants just add some conpost goodness.

@@terryhenderson424 Because the native soil is so alkaline here, it actually fizzes if you put vinegar on it! 🤪 I use container gardening. I buy a good quality potting soil, compost, and fertilizer…. I think our 100+ temperatures all summer stresses the plants. Even though my garden is covered in shade cloth once the temperatures get to 95 here… Things still get pretty stressed. I do look forward to cold weather crops, those do well all winter, since we only have 2 or 3 really cold nights most winters.

Following religion is what YAHUAH is talking about when He says come out of her my people in the bible. Religion doesn't teach His true word. That view out of the window at the beginning of the video is so breath taking!! I can only imagine the real in person view. Everything is so much better in real time.

THANK YOU SO MUCH.. for sharing your garden woes .. haha you just made me feel normal like I’m not alone .. this yr same thing happened to me and I felt like such a failure, and every yr we keep saying it will be better . lol 😂 in my defense I do learn what not to do from each failure .. and start each yr with good intentions 👍 I’m always watching al these garden channels and have garden envy.. thanks for sharing the reality.. ❤

Give yourselves some grace around your garden. Managing and doing the labour on a build can change the usual ebb and flow of your life. Reality is we can’t, and shouldn’t, be trying to do all the things. What you’re doing is great and appreciate you sharing your journey with us.

I experienced the same issue with Burpee Blue Lake green bean seeds. I planted two rows, and less than half of the plants were bush beans. The majority were pole beans. Unless picked when young, the pole beans are stringy, so I quit picking them. Fortunately, I planted a 3rd row of green beans of a different variety (Provider), and they have done very well. I gave some away to family and friends, and also put some in the freezer. If I would have planted the other two rows with the same variety, I would have had a ton of green beans! (Another plus this year is the bug damage has been very minor. Some years, the bugs chew on nearly every bean ruining the crop.) Btw, one of my neighbors had the same issue with pole beans when he thought he had planted bush beans. Somebody at Burpee messed up big time!
