A good start to a promising series! Always good to get BOM content. Just a little note, if I may on this new style, that the delivery felt a little forced at times, like how you might try and exaggerate a bedtime story for kids maybe. I think a little more casual chatty tone that the BOM community knows you as would maybe suit it better, along with less of just a talking head when you're delivering the text (as in torso and arms, furniture or the room, etc)? In the motorsport KZbin world I think Aidan Millward would be a good example of it. Looking forward to more in this series, and the others!

It's always a tough one. I recorded this about 6 million times with various deliveries and I felt this one the best. The salient points had more emphasis because quite frankly, they were quite incredible. Had the footage been available that upscaled successfully to go full screen without significant degradation in quality at 1080 then there would have been far more cutaways. Thanks for your feedback.

@@bom-tv Yeah it's tricky to finalise what to go for when trying out something new. Glad you're going it though! Updated my original comment to clarify that I didn't mean less screen time on you, just that showing only your head/shoulders and the scale of them jumping around didn't feel quite right to watch. Personally I'd maybe extend it to your torso and arms to give you another way to add emphasis, though it does add the complication of "acting"; Curious Droid has been another good example of this over time. I also wouldn't say no to a basic "set" on screen like Auto Shenanigans (a corner of your office space maybe, the shed would be great but probably not the easiest to fit around everything else that needs to go on there). Remember this is just one person's thoughts, and I'm certainly not going to miss any of the upcoming videos. Cheers to all at BOM!

They need to finish the bstard mini, don’t encourage the blighters, however tempting/good the new videos are. It’s been what, nearly 11 years now, and I was in early, I have the overalls AND NMFP mug. I’ve also bought my brother the ‘Make The Noise’ t-shirt and the matching level (he/we build cars too, no comparison with nik’s brilliance, mind) and something else too, no, can’t recall. What I mean is, I’m a great fan, it just needs to end - which they seem terrified of (understandably, I’ll admit) but at this point, it’s like making a movie and leaving the ending to begin at the start of the sequel. Then never making that sequel (like the computer game Xii, swines!!)….. Anyway, sorry for the essay, but they need to move on uninpinged.

I took a HANS ride at pre-event stage for the Ojibwe Forest Rally way back in I want to say 2016. It was an American RallyX type course where we crested the bank of a dirt oval and I went in too hot and nose dived in at around 30 MPH plus whatever potential energy of being like 6 - 8 feet above where we landed. That sounds slow but it was like running into a brick wall. I don't know if the HANS device saved myself and my co-driver's lives, but I know afterwards I was happy the Rally America rules made us wear them. Also that hurt. A lot. Way back when I was flipping channels and saw the exact moment that Dale Earnhardt hit the wall in the accident that ended his life. It didn't look that violent, basal skull fracture is no joke. I don't know if you 2 goons wear HANS for your racing adventures, but I can't recommend that life insurance enough.

Adjustment period,…. that’s all it is, I think! Basically, you created a monster with Binky, and now you have to find something else that works. You will adjust, and so will we, I am confident of that! All the things that we love about you and Nic fettling about that make Binky great are either impossible to recreate - because they grew naturally - or you don’t want to, because then you just crank the handle? I am totally with you! (I think it will also make the occasional Binky/l’Escargot episodes even better when (if) they appear) so there’s that :) Ok, so if I treat this as a standalone thing, what did I think? That was an interesting story that I had not heard about before, despite years of hoovering up more YT than is recommended by leading estate agents, or something… anyway, great story, all the research and story arc are lovely. As you said, footage is difficult to get, and without the use of stock footage, it’s… a podcast. Nothing wrong with that! I have a number of videos in my feed that I don’t actually watch because it is all about the delivery and the story. (e.g. Jago Hazzard - sometimes the pictures are important of course, but other times, just keeping YT happy) You already commented on the delivery - and I agree that it was a little stiff and serious even for “Mr. B. tells a story”. But again, once I looked away from the screen, it fitted much better. It just comes down to whether you have plans for a series or whether this is a one off and other experiments lined up? Either way - don’t be afraid of loosening up! If you feel that a smirk or a pause fits the story, you don’t have to deny yourself that because you need to be “different” here. Looking forward to the next one!

I am currently working through a sort of DIY rehabilitation and the effects of restricted bloodflow are making me reconsider studying medicine. Loosening a muscle knot near the spine genuinely affects digestion and a plethora of other tiny things. *And* these are just simple, insignificant, banal muscle knots. I cannot imagine what those G forces were doing to them. That much of a shift had to have had an effect. I hope none were long term.

Only damage I can maybe foresee is maybe neurological? What happens is that the blood pools in the venous system decreasing venous return essentialy making the heart pump "dry" so you loose bloodpressure. A fighter pilot or similar have much higher g-loads but they are intermittent giving the body time to recover circulation and perfusion. These loads are not that high per se in comparison but they never let up and they are very uniform, that is why this was such an unique and different situation.

Wait,... so he's an AI reading scripts? The greenscreen key isn't really up to BOM quality, but the dulcet tones are easy to listen to and take in the tale while doing other tasks. Texas Motorspeedway was built for NASCAR, where there's no aero downforce, and it's banked steep enough to keep them pinned to the ground at speed in the turns. Running open wheelers there was always going to be pushing the limits, thanks to the higher cornering speeds the wings are able to generate.

I'm hearing loads of numbers here to make me confused. to clarify, I'm from a normal country with a logical system to measure distances. Like 100 centimeters to 1 meter (because of centi = 100) and 1000 meters to a 1 kilometer (because kilo = 1000). So taking about miles makes me dizzy. 1 foot = 12 inches, 1 yard = 3 feet = 36 inches and 1 mile = 1,760 yards = 5,280 feet = 63,360 inches. Good thing Richards voice has become ASMR to me because my parents were listening to the first instalment of project binky when I was in the womb. Now I'm watching this with my grandchildren in my rocking chair. Yes I'm criticizing the used system of measurement. But I'm not seriously beaching about the time it takes to create Perfection called Binky. Keep up the good work (except for stupendous systems of measurement) and keep us fed with many types of vehicular related videos! The content you're making is 99,9% gold or better👌
