Johnny Depp is not only beautiful but he's a brilliant actor. He could have been the typical leading man and picked all the hunk roles. He didn't. He chose to pick damaged characters who had depth to them. Brilliant man, good father and absolutely gorgeous! I don't even think he's scratched the surface yet. He's got many more roles in him and I can't wait to see what's next. Not to mention he's an awesome guitar player too. Totally gifted. The whole package!

The Gospel, which means the Good News is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. The one God is a trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Son came and laid down his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. John 1:1,14 KJV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD. [14] And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, and dwelt among us, 1 John 3:8 KJV He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Isaiah 9:6 KJV For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty GOD, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and THE WORLD KNEW HIM NOT. John 3:18 KJV He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

I think he hit the nail on the head, the subject matter is easy to forget amidst all the drug-fueled shenanigans, just as it's easy to forget Ferris Bueller is a coming-of-age story about taking the time to live, rather than just being about a goofy kid that skips school. The high water mark speech covers so much, and really scoops out Hunter's feelings and utter confusion at the changing times. Just when you think you have the answers, the rug was pulled out from under you, as was Tim Leary and his acid-fuzzed disciples. The hippies lost, and Fear and Loathing accounts that confusion, loss of hope and disappointment.

Definitely agree with him about the high humor of the film (and man). It does a brilliant job of capturing the very distinct sub-culture of las vegas, its soullessness, how grotesque and hedonistic people can be there... very thought provoking to consider the love generation of middle 60s san fransisco and then think that all roads lead to las vegas. Also a good analogy for drug abuse in general. Beautiful and glowing for awhile, but not an end in and of itself. And then to present that information while being absolutely hysterical and reveling in the madness of it all, genius.

Johnny depp is one of my favorite actors I watched him in pirates of the caribbean as a kid and edward scissor hands and alice in wonderland and I've always noticed he played "weird" characters I think it's because he doesn't want people to see him as an attractive guy but see his actual talent

Put simply, whether you agree or disagree with Hunter's opinions, politic's, way of life (a lot of which I don't) his writing is f'ing ELECTRIC. And I just ran through his whole catalogue of books just because the writing was so... damn... good.

The parts about the drugs are great fun, but to me it's about realizing that the 60s culture and ideals were dead and trying to figure out what to believe in now that it was the Nixon era. The musical equivalent would be the Altamont Festival at the end of 1969.
