Thanks mam. It was very profound. It was like a condensed sea of knowledge in a small cup. I am astounded by the way you concisely conveyed what another may take three months to teach.

I know that Professor Delahunty pursued a career at the Bar without significant family wealth, so I'd be interested to hear when she decided to pursue a career at the Bar (for example, whether she was confident of gaining an Inns of Court scholarship).

I forged ahead without an award and without a private income. Looking back I’m not quite sure what i did to survive it but having an amazing mother and supportive partner lay at the heart of how I got through the early years.

43 mins 21 seconds. She states barristers are self employed. Judge's are self employed too. If profit is the motivation how can we trust them and their judgements ? In civil litigation the plaintiff nearly always wins. If they didn't, people wouldn't sue each other and then the gravy train of the legal industrial complex would halt and these people would out of a job.

They are utterly corrupt. Two barristers I've dealt with were utter liars who did little but mislead the courts. The judge was more bent than a boomerang and they colluded together. For a judge to ask the barrister if there is anything else they can add to an order just shows how bent this whole system is.

No. Every barrister I’ve met is married to the job. It’s their whole universe so i totally get that they want chambers to rep them esp with the life long membership.

My inclination is to disagree with you. While I believe that many people focus more on irrelevant issues in today’s society, I can absolutely see how are you wouldn’t want to join an Inn that wouldn’t be very helpful to you. I’m quite surprised that you wouldn’t see it that way. If a certain Inn has a large amount of people who would be dismissive of somebody who is LGBT then that would seem like a pretty bad decision to join.
