I prefer to tin my leads at a lower soldering temperature which applies a thicker coat of solder similar to ferrule. Thank you, Vince

I've tinned my leads on literally all my systems that utilize terminal blocks as the only real reason one typically uses ferrules is because they are crimped on, so it reduces labor. I've never heard of that before, but soldering itself would reduce resistance as it adds more conductive mass to a leads copper conductors. How do we know what frequentie ferrite we need? I just had emi isseus on my home build router(i dont know much about this) yes im fair. I just winged it with installing a ferrite ring from an old powersupply on my vfd cable thanks to youre movies. This eliminated the isseus on that. Im trying to learn from youre channel. And do. But as im not a robotics person. I have a lot to learn. So again. You give lots of info. But youre talking about the propper frequentie of the ferrite. How do i know what i need to buy.

Thank you for your support. All spindle cables should be double shielded, and not using ferrites in best practice as like my video states ferrites are only effective on short lead runs. Ferrite frequency in your case is irrelevant as you need to replace your spindle cable with the correct type. I carry the proper double shielded cable, and if you want to purchase one I'll need the length you require, and I'll give you 10% off the price. Thank you, Vince

Nice video Vince. After seeing the video i have a doubt. The 0-10V external signal used to drive the spindle's RPM in the VFD need to be considered like a power cable (so no shielded cable and grounding required) or like a signal cable (so shielded cable and grounding required) ?

Thank you as always for your support, and I also love my Hitec Aurora 9. :) The PWM signal should be always as clean as possible for your motion control software to register it for correct RPM output. I prefer to use a TDK ferrite as its a simple format to correct any potential variance from internal EMI. In the end the choice is always up to the end user, and I've had the debate for years on what leads should be filtered/shielded, and what shouldn't. If an end user is alright with not using double shielded cable, or ferrites on particular components/areas of their system that's fine as its theirs, but in the long run I just don't see the logic in not adding a ferrite at the cost of about $4 for "piece of mind" for an accurate PWM signal as its critical. I've learned in over a decade online that the only time one really appreciates applying the techniques implemented on my channel is when their system is stable for extended duration.
