I have to say this is the best cinematic I've seen, great work at hiding or now showing the unnatural character movements, it made the whole cinematic look more authentic. but the factions are really unclear here, I totally didn't understand the storyline...

I'm glad you appreciate it. ^^ The factions involved here might get you confused because this machinima was mainly aimed towards Battlefield veteran players. It shows the formation of the 'Pan Asian Coalition', a fictional military alliance composed of Russia and several asian countries in 'Battlefield 2142' game. I must admit I should have taken newcomers to the series into consideration before making this machinima the way it is. But I hope I made it a bit clearer for you. Edit: You can see the hint to the Pan Asian Coalition at 1:09 in the video.

yeah okay I know very little about 2142, but now it's clearer, I didn't notice the chinese soldiers when they entered the bunker, so I didn't realize it's the PAC, and at the beginning the US sniper was holding the railgun, but the russian soldiers were killed by normal bullets so I didn't understand who was firing. after the two US soldiers went into the bunker, they knifed two russian soldiers and took disguise, the black screen hinting they were changing outfits was too short in my opinion that I didn't realize they took disguise and the two russian soldiers later were actually the US soldiers before. so to me it seemed like the main characters changed from the US soldiers to the russian soldiers, that's how I got confused on the plot. other then that, the cinematic is very well done! :)

I just used the Rail Gun for the futuristic look. A silent sniper rifle, capable of propelling a bullet at high speed without conventional propellants, coupled with an advanced tracking point high-tech scope (science or fiction ?... :p). I noticed that a few people were as confused as you were during that disguise part. There was no proper way for me to show them switching uniform realistically, so I implied that with sound effects but I also didn't want people staring at the black screen for too long so I made it short. Now that I'm thinking about it again, maybe I could have made a scene with the camera looking away (at their casting shadows if possible) and after they are done (implied with sound effects still), fading the scene away before the next shot. Oh well, still room for improvements I guess. Comment like yours enables me to be more careful next time. Your feedback is highly appreciated. ^^
