An hour and a half long episode of Dewy del Mar!? Yes please! In my city (before my game started crashing every few minutes), I exclusively hand-place French and German buildings. I only use corners and put four of them in a square to look like one building. It makes for some tight grids in those areas, but the buildings look so good!

The ugly shadows from retaining walls and whatnot can be turned off. Go to graphics, go into advanced settings, and then turn off "terrain casts shadows". I promise it will look much better.

Love the build! To make the tram network more realistic, I'd bring it down to two lines: one that goes from the northern industrial area (where the tram depot is) to the beachside suburb and the other from Gruber Triangle to the New City across the river. That'll make the Arts District station the new transfer hub but that's totally fine and normal in many cities.

1:18:32 imo, the urban highway should bridge over the train yard/ river and connect with the bypass further to the upper right. this would open more room for development on the near side of the yard (perhaps a business park strip and a low income neighborhood)

So that you don’t have to do things like delete the freeway for “realism’ it would be cool to see you build out and sprawl more with low density before expanding and urbanizing. Length of vid is fine, entertaining and I love how you explain your thinking. Thanks!

Ha you know the first thing I did when brainstorming this district was put down the small French train station! I ended up removing it though because I thought it was too close to the Central Station, figured the shorter distance was better served by tram/subways.
