Mistran5lation The American Version comes from the Little Red Song Book, distributed in the early 1900s by the IWW. The ISO's version is almost exactly the same, albeit with gener neutral language in some places.

The English language translation of L'Internationale sung in the US is very literal, and very clunky to sing and to listen to. The English language version sung in the UK and Australia is less clunky to sing and listen to, but rather archaic in its language. Billy Bragg's paraphrase is the best English language version, and he was reportedly inspired to write it after a conversation with Pete Seeger, who always preferred to sing the original French lyrics and then translate them into prose for English-speaking audiences.

What about workers' councils directly voted on by the community to dictate and coordinate resources? Not everyone's gonna be able to work at the local factory or farmland or plant, hell some places might not even have those, thus making the decisions too worker-centric can be problematic in that case.
