I feel like I'm one of the few people who had a postive reaction to Elephant Mario. I thought he looked adorable and chonky, especially with how great the new artstyle is. He's had animal suits since Mario 3, and sure actually becoming one is new, but I think it suits the weirder side that this game is trying go for with the wonder flower making everything change.

I hope no Rosalina or Waluigi to demonstrate Daisy is worthy of being in the exclusive list of characters that can be in main games. I’m somewhere in the middle; I didn’t care that the style looked the same for NSMB (almost every game nowadays looks similar with graphics getting better, there’s less of a noticeable “jump” between them than say, 8-bit to 16-bit), but this looks like so much fun. I love how almost everyone immediately picked up on the new artstyle. The wacky level mix-ups, Daisy being playable, and that elephant power-up; there's just so much in this trailer to go nuts over. Oh hey, here something else to make note of. There's a leaker named "Zippo" who actually alluded to this game in August of 2022. They didn't completely know what it was, the only things they were told of was the following: -A new 2D Mario developed by Nintendo EPD -It will be it's own thing. The "New Super" moniker is being thankfully retired. -It will feature a new art style that will take some people by surprise. -It's "very far" along in development. Might be completed soon. -Online multiplayer will be included. -Will feature the return of Foreman Spike. -Will release during the 2023/2024 fiscal year. Well, at least 4 out of those things are right, might be worth keeping this stuff in mind when following this game...

They didnt show it, but the main idea of the elephant power-up is that you can take water with the trunk and then shoot it out, that whole section of the level is the introduction of the elephant power-up, the sleeping goomba shows you that while being an elephant your steps are silent so he doesn't wake up, and right after the goomba there is a water fountain to teach you about getting water with the trunk and shooting it out. Based on my level design knowledge that's my deduction, i'm just wondering why didn't they show mario shooting water though, that made so many people think this power-up is ridiculous.

Ok, so I had this thought in my mind, thanks to someone's fanart on Twitter. The Elephant Power Up, what if it's an exclusive Power Up for certain characters? Like Mario's is an Elephant Apple, but it could be different for others: Wolf for Luigi as an example. The Toads would be Mice, Daisy would be a Cheetah or Tiger and Peach as either a Deer or a Sheep. But after seeing that theory fan art, I'm thinking it's a plausibility. ESPECIALLY after we found out about Toadette's Power Crown, which was only exclusive for her.
